What would it take to change the minds of those of you who are bearish? Either technical and/or fundemental... I want to personally disclose I am neutral and have no vested interest in either side why this polarization fascinates me. Both sides seem very dug in, Einhorn and Chanos have both held their short positions for years just to name a couple. You obviously have a big instutional and fanatical base behind this that never sells.

well if Musk takes the company private at $420 that would pretty definitively blow up the shorts, right? You can't short a privately held company, so wouldn't all shorts be liquidated at that price once that happens? So you might still "believe" that Tesla is doomed if the stock goes private at $420, but who cares what you think. You lost.

Just tweeted this now, cant see how offer isn't made official at this point? In these situations doesn't stock usually reopen at offer price $420 ??? Glad i had window get stopped out before trading was halted.

Lol it's this type of insanity why bears have wasted so much time and resources on this name. Yeah it no way proves the shorts wrong even though in the 5 years since this thread was created the stock will be 3.5x and close at an ATH.

That's the first thing the went through my mind as well. That sure would make Elon's life easier. Let's just say I'm skeptical.

Congrats to all the longs though if this goes through. How many of you would take a buyout at $420? I'm having a hard time thinking of who would finance such a deal at what can only be described as an insane valuation. Argue all you want about the potential of Tesla but to value a company that's currently bleeding cash like crazy at $70B is beyond nuts.
