Have to respect elon's ability to just manipulate tf out of entire populations. He has got to be the best confidence man of all time. He could come up with a DIY alchemy kit and people would buy it...lots of people...let us know when your robot arrives. Hopefully it moves around better than a tesla on "autopilot"

I keep getting the sense Elon is getting bored of building cars and is looking for the next shiny object to obsess over.

Hey everybody!

I am truly shocked that nobody has discussed this or have done any financial modeling on it.

The Tesla robots can bust some dance moves! This is on a PROTOTYPE. Can you imagine how much better they will get before production?

The money that they could make busking is simply incredible. Also, they can do it at night, while you are sleeping, and have no tasks for them to do around the house.

Breakdancing robots....simply amazing and will make TONS OF KASH!

just watch the first 3 minutes.
tsla will not achieve this level this decade (and never with their current hardware) given their current pace.

chinese company from that video was founded after tesla started selling fsd. lol

Eh, it's China so it's probably fraud (remote controlled by an operator with cameras). Agree on the rest

lots of stuff delayed to 2022 and beyond, the 2020 (lol) roadster, cybertruck, semitruck, fsd... but everybody with common sense already knew that they just made those products up to raise money.

maybe 2-3 years from now, catl, lg chem or someone else can sell them the batteries needed to come close to the specs they made up for an acceptable price.

Elon is hilarious. The ability to con so many people at the same time and do it repeatedly is next level. What sets him apart from other confidence men is his ability to continue pounding the same crowd. His huge reach is also impressive but that regurgitated slop constantly being mopped up is something else

Almost anybody can scam a few here and there, but his reach is incredible

Re: STARLINK

--> Has anyone subscribed or used it?
--> Or looked at their revenue projections?

Edit: https://www.teslarati.com/spacex-sta...upgrade-plans/

They claim to be manufacturing 5K dishes per week, and have backorders to fill, assuming stable production for next year that would add 5k x 52 = 260,000 new users coming online, ignoring upfront equipment cost they pay $99 per month, $25,740,000. The article suggests they aim to build/sell 1M dishes in 2022, which amounts to $500M dish sales and $100M monthly recurring revenue (or $1.2B pa).

Teslerati is notoriously in love with Musk, if anyone has more objective sources I'd be grateful.

SpaceX probably deserves it's own thread...

My neighbor has Starlink. Elon has my money but he's using it for hookers and blow instead of providing me internet.

We both signed up sometime last fall to get on the list of beta testers. Where I live satellite internet is the only option, and Hughes sucks. This spring, in February or March, we both got emails from Elon offering us a chance to become beta testers. The catch was that once you opened the link in the email you only had 15 minutes to sign up or you'd go to the back of the line. That kind of ground my gears as some scammy Elon bullshit. I didn't click the link.

I knew my neighbor was anxiously waiting to get starlink so I figured I'd let him beta test for me. He got the same email, same day, and signed up. Two weeks later they sent him his equipment. It was $500 or $550 for the equipment.

He loved it. Said it was amazing, incredibly happy. That spurred me to go ahead and sign up. I'd saved the email, opened it, and clicked the link and had 15 minutes to sign up and pay. Gave all my info to sign up and when I got to the end it said some version of "pay $100 now and the balance when the equipment ships". About an hour later I got another email saying demand was huge but my equipment would ship by summer. That was over 4 months ago and not a ****ing word.

As time has gone on my neighbor now hates his starlink. Apparently it worked fine in the early spring before leaves were on the trees but now his signal is terrible and the speed sucks.

China clearly has a war going on at foreign investors with today's target Canada Goose and they were fined $70k simply for claiming their jacket is the warmest. How long before they go after Tesla?

China sales are cratering so they are shipping product to Europe. Berlin factory not needed now

My brother lives out in the hicks and had pretty shitty internet so he signed up for Starlink. He got it sometime in the spring. Now when I go up there I have to use my personal hotspot to play poker because the ping time is 5 to 10 seconds and streaming video would be completely impossible. He's holding out hope it gets better over time. I told him he got scammed and to sign up for a real provider so he can at least access the internet consistently again.
