We're under $3.00 (overall market is down today)

Buying more.

Bought more at 2.95. Going to keep buying today if it keeps dropping. No reason for ZNGA to be getting hit 3x harder than the overall market.

I'm allowed to post articles like that right?

I like their potential for real world gambling revenue. Plan on getting some within the next week, but I probably won't buy/sell/buy/sell. Just long on them for a while.

How much commission are you paying on all of these trades?

Bought more at 2.94, 2.93, 2.92 and 2.91. 166% of my original position. Average cost 2.62.

If it keeps going lower I'm gonna have to start closing out other positions to keep buying, but I'll gladly do it. Market is a drooling ****** if it thinks ZNGA is worth less than $3.

Last edited by amberdosh; 02-21-2013 at 01:41 PM. Reason: 2.91 MOAR

I'm somewhat surprised that a group of investors here, who should have far greater awareness of the real money poker market than the mainstream, think that there's a huge amount of revenue to be made in it for Zynga.

Really depends on the format though. The kind of fish who would play some mobile ap/game don't really care about rake, or even know what rake should be.

They could be charged $2 to enter a tourney with 10 other players on their phones, and Zynga could keep $3.50 and it would probably still work. This assumes they come up with cute custom avatars and all kinds of other silly little dressed up features that I'd do if I were them. Make it the ultimate low-stakes social experiment.

Hunting for my next exit. Will probably start shedding some shares when the momentum stops, I have a huge position right now. No idea when the next peak will be. Hopefully north of $4 but might be in the same $3.50-$3.80 range as last time. We'll see.

Sold off ~20% from 3.15-3.20. Nice 24 hour profit.

Holding the rest until it's time for the next big dip.

Average cost $2.47.

Can I ask why you'd want to communicator an average cost number to people, when not a single person does it in your way? The average price per share number is never done like this. For the sake of actually sharing this with others, why not adopt the standard? It's your like you're doing your own EV math that nobody else does. There's no real reason for it.

The rest is cool.

That's probably what people said about sklansky bucks and galfond dollars when they first heard of them

I will stop referring to it as 'averaged cost' but I'm not going to do another form of accounting - and calculating amberdosh gorilla math cost is really helpful for me to know where I'm at.

it means nothing the way you present it here without position sizes. tracking your P&L in dollars makes a lot more sense.

I'm not going to change my method of accounting or trading or anything else to conform to the books you read that I don't care about. The market doesn't give a **** what anybody thinks about my methods - it only cares if my decisions are correct. That's also the only thing I care about.

If you want to discuss why buying or selling Zynga would be a good or bad idea, that would be outstanding. But when it comes to my non-traditional methods, I really don't gaf what you think.

ad,

So using your method, you are basically saying that you have made/lost $0 on the positions you've closed out and the difference between your "average cost" and the current price represents your entire profit/loss, correct?
