I agree sort of... if some dude approached me with that I'd be like get the **** out of here.

reminds me of that stupid ass experiment where the world known violinist played in an NYC subway and the general public freaked out that nobody could recognize him. Ok, so yesterday someone got stabbed on the subway and this past weekend I saw some homeless bum ****ting behind a pole waiting for the subway and now I'm supposed to recognize some world known violinist?

**** doesn't work that way in real life (of course this is obviously my own opinion)

I disagree...

Now if some random bum or methhead looking dude approached me like this guy did and offered me it, then yes, i would respond like these people did.

But this guy has a microphone and a camera man... you would easily be able to deduce that this is sort of like jay leno interviewing random people to see how stupid they are. The people in the video are truly as stupid as they look.

You can tell a fake Maple Leaf from a real gold coin quite easily. (if I can you can imo) Especially because those are 99.99% pure gold and the characteristics present in gold are easier to identify at such highly refined levels. The whole point however is that people come out and blame a small amount of publicity on gold, a great percentage of which is advertising, and say "well the public is on board, so since the public knows now, it is a bubble and all over." The assumption even if correct is asinine, that is people (the general public) know about something it is a bubble. The point made was, the general public knows **** about gold and are obviously not gold crazy.

Is this a troll? You really think that the USD will be gone by 2020? Really?

I hope your right on silver to $500 an ounce by then though, cause I've started buying it every chance I get. I more like the look of an ounce bar than anything else. Gotta love what ya collect right?

The US dollar will have lost it's reserve currency status by 2020. That in itself will have massive impact on the currency market. How much will the US devalue (and in turn the other major fiat currencies devalue in concert with the USD) before the world ceases the use of the dollar as a reserve currency and how safe and effective the replacement reserve is and on what timeline, will determine how bad things get. It is in the realm of possibilities the dollar won't exist in 2020. I feel it will exist, as a shadow of it's former self.

If it still exists, $500 could be like $36 now.

If you invest in precious metals it's because you don't trust fiat money, and therefore you don't care about how many USD costs an ounce, but what can you buy if you change that ounce for paper money.

Yes true...

I somehow think the dollar will still be around in this scenario of 500$ oz. and even though I think the dollar is garbage I do still want it around but with all the morons who think paper is money losing 80% of their purchasing power so my family and I can prospaaa.

Yes 500$ would be the beginning of the bull market, not the top.

Hacker Group Anonymous Brings Peaceful Revolution To America: Will Engage In Civil Disobedience Until Bernanke Steps Down
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 03/12/2011 21:30 -0500

"Bank of America Ben Bernanke Federal Reserve Global Economy International Monetary Fund Morgan Stanley World Bank

The world's most (in)famous hacker group - Anonymous - known for effectively shutting down their hacking nemesis security firm (with clients such as Morgan Stanley and, unfortunately for them, Bank of America)- HBGary, advocating the cause of Wikileaks, and the threat made by one of its members that evidence of fraud by Bank of America will be released on Monday, has just launched communication #1 in its Operation "Empire State Rebellion." The goal - engage in "a relentless campaign of non-violent, peaceful, civil disobedience" until Ben Bernanke steps down and the "Primary Dealers within the Federal Reserve banking system be broken up and held accountable for rigging markets and destroying the global economy effective immediately."

The Anonymous manifesto:

We are a decentralized non-violent resistance movement, which seeks to restore the rule of law and fight back against the organized criminal class.
One-tenth of one percent of the population has consolidated wealth in unprecedented fashion and launched an all-out economic war against 99.9% of the population.
We are not affiliated with either wing of the two-party oligarchy. We seek an end to the corrupted two-party system by ending the campaign finance and lobbying racket.
Above all, we aim to break up the global banking cartel centered at the Federal Reserve, International Monetary Fund, Bank of International Settlement and World Bank.
We demand that the primary dealers within the Federal Reserve banking system be broken up and held accountable for rigging markets and destroying the global economy, effective immediately.
As a first sign of good faith we demand Ben Bernanke step down as Federal Reserve chairman.
Until our demands are met and a rule of law is restored, we will engage in a relentless campaign of non-violent, peaceful, civil disobedience.
In our next communication we will announce Operation Empire State Rebellion.
Glorious Chairman Ben - our free advice to you: change your e-mail password stat..."
