I was scaling into a SLV position back in June but only got into about half of it before it starting rising. Wish I woulda just paid up now but at least I have a taste.

Happens over and over again. Sometimes on a larger or smaller scale, but the mentality manifests itself over and over again. Honestly, I think you can see mini versions of this at different times in the trading threads. Example that most recently comes to mind is the short VIX/ XIV debacle.

I made a mistake and sold off some physical a bit too early but have been holding a modest SLV position since June too.

Seen this before, will probably average up.
FULLY intend to get out too early but will hold a small position for total stupidity.

I don’t know about you all... but because of Corona this is the first time since college that I’ve felt alive. I have lots of silver and been waiting for something like this to happen for 15 years. The point where things get so bad that 1 silver Roosevelt dime will buy me a blowjob from a formerly well to do housewife and her 18 year old daughter at the same time. I’ve been waiting in the shadows laughing at these cuck husbands who buy their wives range rovers instead of buying silver bullion... knowing that I’ll be face ****ing their wives mouths for the 1.30$ it cost me to buy that silver dime.

Just yesterday at Whole Foods I seamlessly entered into conversation about Corona with a milf that had a ring on her finger in the water aisle... and I said this is all a cover for Trump to bring us back on a gold standard. She started looking at me in amazement like she wanted me to paint her lips in cum. At the end of the conversation I’m like "take my number, l have plenty of protection and freeze dried food if you ever need it" and she took it from me.

The fringe theorists around metals can be discarded as swiftly as the same who were swirling around (defining, actually) BTC in the early days.

They're irrelevant.

This is one is all about knowing the herd better than the herd knows itself, yet not being influenced by it.

Oof... Some real HOF names from the BFI past.

Yowserrrs (legit smart, fragile ego, probably exploitable IRL as a man with character defects but also probably earns semi decent)

RedManPlus (one of my all time favorite posters, went heavy political but was an eccentric genius)

Reading mrmusicrecorder's tragic implosion (and eventually ghosting the forum- his last post was ITT) is interesting. If I didn't have a life/other things to do, I'd be sorely tempted to plot some of his posts on a SLV chart from that time period so you could watch the delusions/rationalizations unfold as a visual...

Mr.MR stopped posting in his blog from 2011 until 2017 then hit us with 4 posts about a few different coins

Also you can see a bright eyed and innocent Morishita bear his soul for a little insight.

A few old legends got caught up, plus a couple regs from my time. One of my old poker buddies too lol.

Good to see Najdorf was as abrasive as ever, if not a little less bitter.

I actually timed the top way way back. Then bought back in and got bathed. It was one of my first speculations

Then the margin requirements raised.

One of my easiest 35% gains ever, less than a week.

May 5, Bloomberg 'The biggest slump for silver since 1983 may not be over as the Comex exchange in New York makes it 84 percent more expensive for speculators to trade the metal, triggering an exit by investors.'

tl/dr; Just a few posts from the first 9 pages!
This really should be required reading for anyone new to the forum [itt, not my posts specifically obvs]

I'm not bitter nor was I back then, my portfolio was doing great. I'm certainly not more bitter now.

I have a great life and a wonderful job trading markets as CIO for the past 15+ years.

Last 5 years:
silver +54%
VFINX +69%
My port:+87% [audited]

I rec'd buying Google instead, up 125%.

My last short recommendation on SLV was at 33 and it's still under $23. EZ game.

Sitting on some GLD 8/21 174.5c for $3/contract and a lot of SLV 8/21 21.5c for $.9/c (was originally .83 but I ended up buying more). The SLV were +90%ish at one point but are now +17%. GLD is now just shy of +100%. I'm also long both ETFs with a decent amount invested.

My hope is that I got a little ahead of the robinhooders here and the steady rise of "gold is at all-time highs and silver is its cheaper cousin with plenty of room to run" articles attracts the masses over the next couple weeks. <popcorn>

Well, this is a nice start to the week, SLV +6.27% premarket as of my writing this, GLD +1.80%. Will need to decide whether I want to sell some contracts today.

NO way, silver consolidating for a while, might even pull back to $22-23 area (it's 24 right now) - ran up way too fast! Sell $20 silver puts - or sell $30 silver calls - or both... That's what i'm doing - and bought $25 leap calls

There we go, just sold one of my GLD contracts for over 350% profit. And we're still at a governmental impasse, hoping we have plenty of room to run still.

It was called the bitcoin thread. Someone made up a string up digits in his basement in the world's greatest ponzi scheme, and got people to pay him billions of dollars for these made-up strings of digits. It's sublime.

But I look forward to Silver_Man returning here too. Maybe we'll get some bitcoin refugees as well when silver hits 200% off lows or so. Right now silver calls are smoking any digital coin returns.

You sure about that? The current market for crypto is amazing. Besides, silver - one could argue - is only riding on the coattails of gold. People are resorting to buying silver because gold is damn near impossible to find. Its a "rising tide raises all ships" thing, so it's not silver on it's own per-se
Silver Quote

Yes I'm sure. You obviously have no idea how much gold and silver calls have been returning. The returns on those calls day after day and week after week make bitcoin and other made up coins look like grandpa's 0.1% return Treasury Bills.
