Glasses guys seemed too cool for school and didn't want a deal.

Did you guys watch "Beyond the tank"? It was awful, unfortunately. Awkward editing, predictable forced drama, zero insight into how the businesses actually work, scripted yet acting like it wasn't, etc. Really disappointing.

The most hilarious thing about "Beyond The Tank" was the fact that Robert didn't actually invest a single dollar in Tipsy Elves and the guys basically gifted him 5% equity in the company. Obviously that wasn't mentioned at all. "Beyond The Tank" was incredibly bad.

I thought the most hilarious part was Damon playing football

I'm so confused about how the glasses guys get that far and walk into the tank without a clear go to market strategy? If they had had 4 lines to feed Cuban, they had a deal. Just don't get it. Do your homework!

Nothing about their pitch made much sense:

*Almost no sales
*Mediocre crowd funding campaign which attributed for like 90% of their sales iirc
*Orders were not even being filled yet!
*No clear view marketing plan or execution plan
*A very weak utility patent

Basicly the guys had developped an unproven technology (of which the concept has existed before obv, I owned a pair of glasses of which you could switch out the glasses 15+ years ago, and it didn't really impress me tbh), packaged it and put a multi-million valuation on it. Oh and they had to get market share in the glasses industry which is as good as owned by the brands that work with Luxotica. No way they get into the chains easily, and if I had to guess glasses are one of the industries where not much business has moved to online yet.

I thought it was $100K for 10%? Or was it renegotiated during due diligence?

What the hell is up with Robert suddenly throwing all this money around?

Barbara is soooo annoying. She never seems to have anything worthy to say.

Cuban's deal with the Super Hero company was interesting, he could have gotten 50% more equity (15%) almost guaranteed given Robert and Kevin's offers.

More than anyone before him, I'm so curious to see where 2 of his big money deals are in 3 years time. Could be big, could be bust.

Man was anyone else blown away by those potty sales? wow. 12m?

I know pre-Shark Tank, they got a big bump in sales because Howard Stern endorsed the product a lot on his Sirius show.

Can't you just use any old step from the dollar store to do the same thing? My nephews have a step thing in the bathroom because they are kids and kids are too short to use the potty. Wouldn't that do the same thing?

It is 12m because people will buy anything in the U.S. if it is marketed well...and they will pay a premium for it.

This article seems to provide a bit of insight on that:

Judy was struggling with constipation and realized that the act of squatting eased the problem.

At the time, her option was a step stool, but it was in no way ideal.

As a result of this dilemma, the Edwardses made the first Squatty Potty in July of 2011 with the help of a neighbor who had a wood shop. They also did research on the benefits of squatting, as opposed to sitting, when making a bowel movement.

“We solved those problems by including the cutout for the toilet and widening the platform to allow the user to achieve a more natural squat. The U-shaped stool worked perfectly. Other improvements were made like giving the slight slant to the platform. This also gives a more effective squat than a flat platform and makes it more comfortable,” Edwards said.

The only product that I've seen pitched on the show that I've ever purchased is the Squatty Potty. Currently en route. I give the company credit for establishing a need I didn't realize I had and providing a strong enough pitch that I felt compelled to act on it.

lol agreed.

Liked the bike dude's tenacity. Good for him. Also really curious if that wheel thing works, or if they just say it works.

Starting and building out a new sport while organizing leagues and pretty much acting like a commish is amazing. Add to that making $170K a year plus equity in the company and it is the absolute nuts.

BUT...spikeball looks super lame and I can't see myself playing for more than a few points and definitely not making it thru a boring 21 point game. It looks goofy like those guys who play badminton hardcore.

I can see how he's trying to follow the route of ultimate frisbee which really exploded a few years ago on college campuses but it's very niche. No one who isn't a bro or frat boy post college will be playing this after they graduate and get a job and life. (I say this being in a fraternity in college.) That's why he said his target age group is 18-24 males. Not even 18-35 or 18-30 but just a 6 yet window to take their $60 for a game set and maybe some league fees.

The season is over ? Entertaining last episode. It's fun to have another shark on the show, but Go Pro guy said some weird things this episode imo. Still better than Robert tho.

That vehicle guy was right calling bull**** on them, glad Mark gave him a deal.

This is a lock to be renewed right? Looking at the ratings it improved again compared to last year.

i respect the guy's grind. believe me, I've had dumb ideas for backyar/drinking games and the ilk... but that game looks insanely terrible. now let me preface this by saying I've never enjoyed volleyball. the second some overanxious bro slammed into me trying to spike that ball, i'd more than likely freak out
