Unfortunately I did not have the luxury to go back in history and pick out a profitable strategy out of many available going forward. Also, my model was unbiased regarding any bull/bear run, i.e. it held long and short positions. It also took into account trading costs and latency, which can eat a large portion of any edge.

Also, any short term trading model without some kind of stop is unwise IMO.

IMO - The market, in aggregate, knows more about this than anyone. Treasury rates are very low == national debt level is OK.

That said - As I've studied economics the one thing I've become sure of is that NO ONE knows anything substantial about economics.

There are big disagreements on the fundamentals of how fiat money works.

When I can't think of a snappy comeback I just tell the truth which is 'no.'

Your answer is deafening silence. We used to have gold bugs in this subforum... Now we have crypto people. There's always a subset who think that the world is about to end and X is going to be valuable. If I ever start to agree with them about the former I'm stockpiling solar panels, batteries, canned food, and ammo.
