i'm thinking this can serve as both BBV for life and for BFI specific stuff since the forum doesn't really have all that much traffic

def should be a BBV thread for this forum. so **** it, i'll try n start one and hopefully it delivers better than Tesla and also never dies:

BEAT: i drive a Toyota ****ing Prius and mommy paid for it, in full (it's basically a $10k car)

BRAG: daddy owed me $50k at the time

VARIANCE: contrary to popular belief, i somehow can still get laid. but i'm pretty sure this car pulls less tail than my old car (Toyota Celica, a little tricked out). meh

flame away

Brag: I drive a BMW

Beat: It's a 5 year old 128i

Variance: Sometimes when I'm in a drive-thru the cashier tells me they like my car.

Actual BFI-related Brag: I'm somehow up 55% in my first 3 months of options trading.

You can’t see how people might be able to post brags and beats in an investment forum?

I had the same car. First thing I bought with poker money. Turned it over to my Dad this year. Great car.

I like mine.

I'd just rather have an M-series.

BEAT: I once drove a Chevy Cobalt that randomly combusted on a hot summer day while I was driving it. I now drive A Chrysler Sebring Convertible that cost me only $1,900.

BRAG: The convertible actually appreciated in value by $500ish surprisingly since I bought it a few years ago.

VARIANCE: Sometimes things act up. The alternator went out. Rotors went bad. Also, my car makes very loud strange noises. Sometimes I wonder if it will start if I haven't started it in a couple days. You never know what to expect from this car. Lots of variance.

This is what happens when you listen to daddy. You should actually be up 2000+% if you'd bought options instead of sold them last month.

P.S. Going back to selling options isn't terrible here (it was terrible in December).

Why is that? Lessened volatility?

My plan for this month is to experiment trading straddles on earnings. If you feel the need, by all means, tell me why that's an awful idea and how I'm an idiot for considering it.

I’ve been in a BAC call the past week or so, which had been marginally underwater. Yesterday it got up to a measley $150 in the black, so I decided to get out before earnings in light of the other major banks missing.

And of course BAC hits.

Net selling vol is always terribad.

Brag: All the CEFs, Alt Mgrs, and Biotech I bought this 2019 is up double-digits gains already. Plus some of the CEFs have a ridiculously high distribution rate.

Beat: Bot GM puts. At least they were spreads.

Variance: STZ, ATVI, boss threw an extra 2% above my bonus in my 401[k] - jealous mate?
