I have no idea what your site is about. I didn't see you mentioned it earlier so I can't really give much information about it. But your best bet would likely be to have poker blogs feature your banner on their sites for a monthly fee or something.

What are the best/most essential WP plugins?

For what? You have to be more specific. There are tons that are excellent for certain endeavors.

All In One SEO Pack is the most essential for me. Contact Form is great. CTC for Tags is great. Related Posts plugins can be great etc.

Yeah, spam catchers are great if you're planning on letting comments be posted. Also, I hit $770 last month for passive income, so my sites are still growing. The last big Google update crushed some of the rankings, but the profits still went up because the long tail keywords hit higher. I was only on the second page for the main terms so I didn't really make much from them anyway. I also got a year's worth of work doing SEO for a friend's company as well, so that's a cool little brag.

I'm looking to hire someone to move a couple of websites for me. I have a couple of wordpress sites that I need to have the hosting moved to somewhere like Godaddy or name cheap. I have the backups, all the data, etc.. but moving them and setting them up is a little out of my scope and something I don't really have time to deal with right now.

If anyone is interested please send me a PM.

What kind of programming language would I need to learn to make a website that allows users to use dropdowns to select certain values as inputs, and when they "submit", have my site output a list of things that are ranked based on the user's inputs?

I've been getting started with the keyword academy, having done the keyword research. Am thinking of hiring outsourcers to write the articles from the start, as I'm not interested in writing about a lot of the topics. Would this be ill-advised since I lack experience in what makes good articles?

Outsourcing is necessary to increase your progress. It's very standard. Your articles need to be unique enough to pass duplicate content checks and they shouldn't be too similar to one another either.

Hey guys,

I just started a website and ran into this very interesting thread. Seems like there's lots of knowledge available here. Basically I'm trying to optimalize my site for SEO and I'd love to get some general tips on how to do this most effectively.

I'm at the moment trying to do some link exchanges with people I know. And also working on the 'keyword' thing. What do you guys think would be most efficient for my site http://www.coachingtokens.com to work on at this point?

Also, if you guys know any good resources for solid information on SEO I'd love to hear it.

Edit: Please let me know if I'm not allowed to link it.

Hmm -

So I assume that in this thread it is OK to ask for website feedback? My story is a bit different. Site is not intended to generate income at this point (or possibly ever) - our hope is that the site provides a tool for people to improve themselves in some way.

Also - I don't see our traffic coming from search engines necessarily - so doubt SEO will have a significant effect.

Be forewarned - the home page is sometimes pretty slow loading. We've just finished phase 1 of programming - and are looking at a phase 2 list - so any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have any thoughts on using the content authority or text broker for outsourcing website content?

Alex,

I've used TCA a bunch over the last year. I'd recommend it for the base articles (originals) that you want to have outsourced and rewritten multiple times. TCA is $.008 a word for a rewrite, but if you hire someone through oDesk you can find people to rewrite 300 words in good English for $1.50 which comes out much cheaper.

@Bullitos,

I just glanced at your site and noticed some poor grammar. Find somebody to do a quick edit of your content.

First sentence that I read was this: "One of the most important people on our site are the coaches."
