Looking for staking partner Looking for staking partner

Ok I'm not sure if this is the right place but this is a type of business and investment. If I'm in the wrong place mods please feel free to lock or move to correct area.

I'm looking for a partner or possibly partners who are looking to invest money to start up a small stable. My main goal in this is to find someone that is not a US resident to open up my options to Non-US friendly sites such as Pokerstars and Fulltilt etc.

My main goal is to start staking players in lower level SNG's and possibly a couple lower level cash grinders.

This is all still in very early stages so nothing would be finalized immediately. That gives both me and the other parties time to get to know each other to make sure we have the same goals, formalize any type of deal, and start to create documents for stakees etc.

If you are interested please shoot me a pm and I can get back to you or set up a time to chat on skype.

How much $$$ are you looking for an investment to start up? How many people are you initially thinking to stake? May be interested. I'm in Australia, so I think I tick you boxes.

I am open for discussion on this. I am definitely not going to jump right into to staking 100NL players though. I'm looking to get between 1-10 solid players on board depending on stake amounts.

You think you tick my boxes??

Are you thinking in regards to cash, and mtt, sngs etc? What are your first thoughts on required start up costs?

What would be your role regarding the stable (running it, evaluating stakees? etc) and what would be the partner/s role?

As stated in my first thread "My main goal is to start staking players in lower level SNG's and possibly a couple lower level cash grinders." As for start up costs, that can be discussed with the partner when we formalize any type of arrangement.

I would like to keep just about everything 50/50 with my partner. I think that if they are putting up just as much money as me that we should both have a say in the selection of players.

OP if you're serious about this you should prob be listing a TON more information in regards to who you are, poker experience, money you wish to invest, exact stakes, number of horses, etc......yes they can PM you but this would show you really want to do this, you've thought this through, and not waste peoples time.

This is probably true but a lot of these things are dependent on the partner as well. I could say that i'm going to invest $1,000 and back 3 players for $5.50 SNG's but that will change if the partner agrees he is going to invest $1,000 as well. That is the reason I sort of left it open the way I did, to leave some room for the partner to put in their 2 cents on how they would like to see it run.

This whole thing will be built by both partners from the ground up.

give ranges imo

Plus what is your poker experience? Why do you think you have an edge? Will you be doing most of the work? Basic info is needed in these respects. The fact that you haven't put anything in that gives you credibility would keep most people from partnering with you. At least it does for me...

The amount of money I'm going to start with in this venture is going to be between $1,000 and $2,000 and at first I would like to start off with a small stable of no more then 5 horses (assuming I go at this alone). Depending on how this grows expansion is always an option. I'm not sure I have a super huge "edge" in this other then the fact I'll be pretty selective in the players that I choose to stake and not just throw money to every bob and tom that applies for a stake.

As for my poker experience I wouldn't even consider myself playing higher then 10NL or small buy in MTT's. I've been playing on and off since around 2006. I've done staking but never on the level of a stable. Its usually been purchasing portions of a persons action or staking an individual into a few mtts or sngs etc.

As stated before, both partners will do equal work in finding players, making deals, building the stable, doing research, and keeping books on stakes. I'm not looking for someone that just has money to throw at me. I have money. I'm looking for a partner that would like to venture into the staking side of business or someone that may already be in staking that is looking to partner up to cut some of the work load.

Any further details can be discussed in PM if your interested.

I'm definitely interested. As I start up, I think I would be comfortable staking maybe 4 players for two months with all of the start up costs halved. Approx $600 each.

After 2 month, providing everything is going smoothly, I would look at wanting to increase to maybe 15 stakes.

I'm an average poker player at best, but I know money and know how to screen people. I work in finance currently. If you are seriously interested, maybe we should add each other on Skype.

you really need a poker consultant - a player who knows the bankrolls necessary for certain games, reviews HH's of your horses, helps them improve,etc.....This is the main component of staking and probably your biggest hurdle. You could higher someone to do this, but no one who is good is going to give their time for any less then say 60/hr
