If you had to become a millionnaire in 5 years what would you do? If you had to become a millionnaire in 5 years what would you do?

Lol, poker is not easy. It's only easy when you make it. Or it was easy if you knew how to cbet 10 years ago.

But your point makes me wonder if what you say applies to trading and people trying to discourage poker players from getting their hands dirty in it.

We have very different interpretations/experience of "work"..... If hero finds something she is passionate about and finds a way to make money from this passion, its a walk in the park to "work harder" 24/7/365 when in actual fact your just doing **** you like doing and calling shots. Not slogging your guts out grinding work.

The hard part is finding a way to be excited about a boring business. But planning the next project can always cure that boredom.

This was your post: Hold up,

You need to average 200K x 5 years - its really not that difficult if you put your life and soul + 18hour days 7 days a week 365 days per year for 1/2 a decade.

If the mother****er was demanding 5 milley than this is a quandary but if you have some hard graft in you, dont mind working a 9-5 plus run a simple boring small business business in year one; food takeway, hair dressers, grocery store, liquer store, cleaning business, mechanics even a market stall or ebay trading type boring business... etc... and expand to 3-5 businesses.... this is easy as long as your solid with numbers and good with people. (and most of all dedicated)

The hard part is not spending it on luxuries over 5 years. But a monthly payment plan with the mother****er can lower your risk here.

anything below 1.5mill should be attainable for an average joe with hard graft and some wit and no dependents in said scenario.

The average joe doesn't get paid to do his passion so this means a HELLACIOUS grind.

95%+ of the population is going to say some kind of art or sport as the thing they are in love passionate with. The problem is that there are nowhere near that many paying jobs in those fields...

What is this thread about? It's about someone who wants to capture the freedom of being a paper millionaire and not work 9-5 for the rest of their life... That's my interpretation of the scenario anyway. Imo we simplify the solution by the below

1) be passionate about something boring business that has a natural demand
2) employ others to be passionate about it for you, if it truly is that boring that you can't do that yourself

Having a steady income to transition into this makes a load of difference

Which then allows hero to be a paper millionaire after 5 years and do whatever they want with the rest of their life - I'm not sure a $1 million in the bank is enough for the rest of heros life but that's a new thread I think

Good luck OP,
Hope this has been thought provoking for u. I won't derail anymore

1) Only ask actual millionaires who have become one in 5 years or less.

Not those who have read books from authors who became millionaires by writing books on how to become a millionaire

2) Passion vs Money.

Assuming u love mama, money will be enough of a motivation, so forget all that passion stuff. Passion will certainly make u happy, but it's no millionaire guarantee.

You can be very rational and look where the most money is: SALES. Sales people get paid most on avg. and it's the most "liquid" field of work.
Best field probably being FINANCE, but other fields could be just as good or better. Inform yourself.

Great thing about sales is that pay is lot less dependent on any degree but on what u sell. So u have more power. U can also put in a lot more hours and get paid for those. Another thing in YOUR hands, not luck.

Since you want little to no variance, you can't build an app or other higher variance ventures (such as gambling on the stock market). You want to be a millionaire in 5 years with the least variance possible.

3) Put in the time. Always look to grow (hire people who do low $/hr work efficiently so u have more time for high $/hr).

4) There is no 4. while it's a fun exercise, it's very theoretical, bc those who rly want to become know these answers instinctively .
Doesn't take a genius to write what i just wrote.

And for others, they usually follow their passion and end up super rich or not, but "happy".

The big majority will do nothing.

How long would you have to work to get that? I have no work skills at all and would be in some low horrendously bad paid job. I did graduate with a degree and top marks, but I chose poker and that is really all I know.....and a little investing.

All depends on our skills. Find out what you know, then go for it.

5/10 PLO at the Vic. Went the other day and lost 2k. The line up was rubbish. Got to get in the private games if you want easy money. Something I never bother trying to do.

If one was willing to work banking hours, they could also consider doing it in tech sales. You'd automatically stand out from your colleagues by your work ethic alone. Most people work 35-40 hr a week. You could prob get promoted in 6-12 months if you're at the right company.

Closers make like 130k-250k at the hours mentioned above. Assuming you're improving consistently and putting in 70+ hours a week throughout the whole 5 year span, I'd imagine it'd be very possible to clear 300k+/yr. I guess that'd put you at 1M post tax in 6-7 years though, not 5.

Get a job on Degrassi junior high playing a kid in a wheelchair, pretend you want to act but focus on music instead while collecting your acting pay cheque. Quit Degrassi when you are good enough to become Drake, be worth 100m

While one million $/£ in five years would be very nice, it wont buy you that much.
To be RICH you'll need ten million +.

Most of the super rich business men (95% are men) came up with a simple but relevant idea and ran hard with it. Of course you dont hear much of all the business ideas that failed. Four out of five businesses fail in the first five years.

There are many govt bureaucrats in San Francisco getting over $400k. Here is the list:

Not sure about the qualifications but I'm sure something could be worked out.
