It's horrible. I've had nonstop complaints since I started using it.

I spent some time working with different p2p (ethereum based) poker projects which I figure might be interesting to some of the posters here. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. The technology is not very well understood and there are a lot of myths an misconceptions that can be cleared up

One of which refuses to offer an ico. Hows that for convincing otherwise?

Most projects don't have a working protocol, in fact I only really know of one. But the idea should be interesting to players. Depending on how its implemented there is the possibility that a p2p poker protocol flies over the jurisdiction of most or any legal and regulatory frameworks.

In many of the countries where it is illegal to serve the citizens with poker the people are still allowed to play otherwise. Since the protocol implementation would be serverless there can be no jurisdiction cited to seize it etc.

Since there are no regulatory hoops and no hardware required to offer games they can be offered for much cheaper than today's server based business models.

I'd agree many projects are scammy or not very worthy, but it only takes one to change the landscape of the industry (forever ;p).

It could breath new life into the game as much of the rake money that is currently leaving to the 3rd parties would now be channeled back as profits for the players.

Convince me you haven't recently joined 2p2 specifically to promote a particular poker platform you are involved with personally..

I'm interested in working on any reasonably viable project that has a mission to serve the players. That said I don't believe the future of (p2p) poker is going to be a single platform. It's a protocol for shuffling and dealing that all platforms will use. Even the existing legacy sites like stars party 888 etc will eventually move to the serverless model.

Each project I've seen has weaknesses, the project I like the most is not putting out an ico, so there wouldn't be anything for me to sell if that was what I was here for anyways

Nonetheless I think the future for poker is presumably quite bright. There is a lot money that leaves through 3rd parties and if it were to stay with the players and on the tables I think it would change the industry back to the time when poker was booming because there was so much money going into it.

I'm far more interested in talking about that and the technical solutions rather than any specific project.

How would a decentralized poker service prevent bots from taking all the money?

You can still implement any traditional security solution for matching up players for games etc. The difference is that you can now also have all of the game stats and data publicly auditable.

I think often, historically, it was the players that brought such rings to the attention of sites wasn't it?

Remember when Kazuya kept saying that TA was a bunch of hocus pocus?

Right now the only thing that matters onthe eth/btc chart is TA.

Haven't synced in a while and the ethereum blockchain takes up like 45GB on my computer. Might have to get a second hard drive next time I try to sync up.

There will be no risk to running a bot, because your funds cannot be confiscated, so they will just invent more and more intricate measures to circumvent detection. This solution would be completely rampant with botting and collusion.

You are confused. Imagine poker stars decided to adopt a p2p protocol, so they don't need servers for shuffling and dealing and game play etc. All of the same security infrastructure can remain in place.

And more to the point, there is not necessarily funds to be confiscated with today's legacy model. Bots and cheaters can take their money of the sites just as well.

Do these facilities realize there's a good chance POS ends up taking over the mining? I also find it funny how all the stock guys say AMD and what not are going up because of bitcoin. They need to realize it's going up because of ****coins.
