I feel guilty because I just know how ****ing huge this is going to be. I said it about bitcoin @ $20. I see massive potential, more then any other investment opportunity.

Watch "banking on bitcoin" on netflix. The best take away I got from it really is how cryptos are just better money. So when you say it has virtually no real world value, one of it's biggest values is it blows cash away. Controlled inflation, and can't be counterfeited. In todays day and age, it'll be virtually impossible to create paper money that can't be replicated. They will have to start putting chips in it or something, which would be way too expensive, and by that time it'll be digital currency anyway. I mean hell, they just add billions of digits to a computer with pretty much no over sight. Who's to say who's doing what. That's what cryptos solve. Can't just make them out of thin air.

I agree it would be reckless if I had debt. I don't.

I agree that it has many benefits over cash, the problem is that today you can basically only use it to hire a hitman or buy LSD off the dark web (exaggerating but you get my point)

Anyway I am obviously bullish overall. I got in BTC at 1100 and ETH at 40 and have only added, never sold. No plans to sell. But it is indeed a very volatile asset and I personally wouldn't be able to handle the enormous swings if my life savings was tied up in it. But I do hope you end up retiring at 30 and buying a yacht for having such big balls

My goal in life was to accumulate a certain amount of rentals so I could be financially free at a certain point. However with cryptos, I think, why the **** am I going to invest $150k into something that's going to net me MAYBE $10k a year????? When I can drop it in ETH and most likely make more money in the next 3-5 years then the lifetime of the rental and no headaches.

So If I'm just one dude, not buying real estate because I'm going for crypto, I also have another buddy who is.... are there's thousands and thousands of people doing this? People in the rental home industry tend to be more in the demographic of people who learn about cryptos. Maybe there are even people selling rentals to buy cryptos.
I am a crypto fan, and reading a crypto fan say stuff like this makes me want to sell all of it

I closed my long at 391, shorted 389 to 341, so far so good but then I screwed up and got caught in the bull trap when I rebought at 358 and now I'm holding bags. I kinda want to go fiat or buy and do nothing.

Seems like any time there's an all encompassing crypto downswing Eth gets hit twice as hard as the others. And when everything surges Eth goes up half as quickly. Feels painful.

you have an asset that

1- has a smaller liquidity pool than bitcoin
2- depends on bitcoin for the vast majority of its valuation

imo altcoins historically go through long periods of strong +/- correlation to bitcoin and then sudden short bursts of reversals. what you're seeing now ever since "the flippening" deflated is a mean reversion to this historical correlation

This is crazy advice imo. First $50k is so much more valuable than any $50k that comes after. So the lower your net worth, the more careful you should be to not go broke. If you're really bullish, then invest some % of every $ you save going forward, but don't just pile your whole net worth into something so volatile.

posted throughout $100-> 1200 ->160 -> 4900 on bitcoin

unlike some fomo kids in this thread, I've never ****ing run from anything
Spoiler:
hi kazuya

If anyone with even a modicum of intelligence and independent thinking looked at all of my posts in this thread, they wouldve made a ton of $ on the way up and down.

have fun holding all those ICO bags. Don't say I didnt warn you months in advance. When all of these 150m raises (status, bancor, maybe omise) produce 0 product and 0 use cases in 2 years, I will never post in this thread again.

You'll just have to live with Heltok and Kazuya hilarious euphoric bullishness.

Everybody has to learn their lesson. Legit buy and hold and buy the dips is by far the best strategy of any strategy. Even just a weekly buy no matter what the price. Trying to pick tops and bottoms just doesn't work in cryptos.

Don't edit what I wrote so as to change the fundamental content. Anyways you're wrong. The lower your net worth, the less careful you need to be about going broke, unless you think your roll is the last money you'll ever hold (it's not, you have an income of $100k in this hypo which you conveniently edited out). According to you someone with $500 should be deathly afraid of losing it, even if they will earn $1mm next year.

Not gonna lie, the China news today sucks.

But will consider taking another long portion if the price is right here in the next couple of days.

I generally agree with you but the platform ICOs like Bancor, 0x, MSP and even NEO longterm all have a good chance at success as they can thrive regardless of which coins end up being 'winners'...
