Why is it a mistake? They will be released in 30k eth chunks starting 6 months to 1 year after the merge.

One possible reason it's a mistake is you won't get the EthPoW to immediately dump.

Also the other reason is Coinbase takes a cut, so you're not getting what you'd get if you did it yourself. Grand scheme of things that difference is pretty trivial.

How many people have been running their own nodes for the last 18 months? A large majority of staked coins were done on centralized exchanges or lido. I haven't seen anything yet on not receiving forks if staked.

Pretty interesting. You can actually dump 10-15 ETHPOW for ETH right now? I'm not sure how the whole system works.

Polol apparently is calling ETHPOW as "ETH1" and ETH as "ETH2". Also lol.

Awful take. It doesn't matter. I've never used it, never would have used it. It doesn't matter. It's just, to my knowledge, and open sourced protocol. That can be forked. Terrible precedent setting behavior by an wretched government.

And if you let the government do this in the name of drugs (which people should be allowed to do anyway) or whatever else, then they will slowly but surely start coming for everything else once their foot is in the door.

Because in this instance I don’t think it’s that shitty. After every major hack, funds are sent directly to tornado. I think it’s mostly used for illegal behavior and don’t mind if it didn’t exist. If people want privacy, there are coins they can use.
