Hi
Was wondering , even my bank had no idea why ….
Maybe I miss info on how that kind of investment works ?

I bought this early this year .
Had a nice run from around 24$ to near 30$ yesterday for a basket of commodities .
I think it’s based on futures.

This morning it open at 25$????
No news about the why ?
Every other etf (like DBC) didn’t move much .
I check the volume , it’s over the daily volume average but not crazy , shrug .

No idea why it drop by like 20% ????
The cost of managing is reasonable too at .25% ?
Nav still at 30$ !

Regardless it Stayed low the entire day ???

But the most strange thing is, when I look at the daily % changes , site like yahoo speak of the etf daily change just drop 20 cent ?????
Not even 1% ????
But I did lose around 20% in 24 hours ?
And Nop , i did not end up with more shares like through a split .

What am I missing ?
Any expert here ?

I check the last 5 years and no where there was a drop that big either ?

Thx .

check your account after the close/tomorrow and you will see the adjustment

Hopefully your right .
when I look at the past dividends (minuscule) I don’t see anything that would explain a 20% drops .

Will see , thx

Long night ahead

The info I saw on that fund said management has discretion on what it can hold. It has a lot of non commodities fixed income. Looks like a lot of T Bill "bonds" in holdings. TLT took a hit that day so all the fixed income had a bigger drop than the commodities etfs. Be aware this isn't a pure commodity ETF. Lots of fixed income. I think that might have been something to do with it.

it is not an index tracking ETF and will seek to enhance its performance, in part through a cash management strategy consisting of investments in investment grade fixed income securities. The fund is non-diversified.

Ok thx
Still hard to understand why all cotation just shows a 1% loss for the day .
If that was due to a hit on the funds, shouldn’t a 15-20% drop been indicated instead of a .75% loss ?

Fwiw, I have trouble to see how a small portion like 16% holding could have such a drastic effect on the 80% portion to accomplish a 15%-20% drop .
If it’s the case , I certainly won’t stick with them ….
I lost an entire year almost of profit for that sector .

Didn’t seem the bonds drop that much .
Thx for info .

Ok yeah, I don't understand the 15% drop either in that case if it was that much. It's pretty common for funds to trade below or above NAV for periods of time. I took a hit on PFN months ago. I know it sucks. Same stuff they just drop sometimes. There's a lot of inner workings on these ETFs

Obv a hugely unreliable source, from a comment on internet , saying someone called graniteshares
And they told them they expect a 4$ return per share o0…..

When I see the last 4 years having dividends ranging from 2cents last year to a max of 35cents 3 years ago I am hugely sceptical.

Finger cross it’s true ……

I just never see a something like this tho before , shrug .
Even my bank had no answer about this .

Did it went up again ?
That is one area where I’m bit lost on why such drastic change can occur for nav valuation and what makes them thick so much sometime for seemgly no reason .

I almost got screwed (if we call it that ?) with a bitcoin fund I exist early enough , got lucky .
It was gbtc I think .

Got trouble grasping the why and the function of it .

They usually do manipulate prices lower overnight, for everything, because it's easier when there's lower volume.

Here is an excellent post about something similar but I don't think this is what happened to you:
