What’s up guys.

I’m about 3 years into my poker journey and about to finish college in 4 months. I’m getting a bachelor’s in business management. I see a lot of great features for analyzing my game in Poker Tracker 4. Studying all the different spots and graphs has improved my game to a point where I’m about break even at 100NL over a small sample (an accomplishment for me as I’m a lot more confident at 50NL).

When it comes to a job interview, I would like to talk about analytic experience using PT4, but an interviewer’s mind might go straight to a gambling problem. To be honest I think thorough study of it gives you great experience.

What would you guys say? Maybe leave it out? Also, any entrepreneurs out there, are there any in-depth, all inclusive softwares you use for business similar to PT4?

Leave it out 100%. Poker on the resume as anything other than a hobby is a killer. There are a few niche jobs that will like poker..hedge fund or day trading. But for anything conventional it'll hurt your chances.

I would leave it out. There are some situations where bringing it up would be advantageous but the way you're describing your interactions with PT4 (including your question about all-inclusive software) gives me zero confidence that you'd be able to describe your experience in a way that would be helpful.

One way to think about this is that for entry-level analysts (across a variety of industries), what PT4 did for you is analogous to what you would be asked to do for your boss/company. Most of the things in your interaction with PT4 that would be useful for your employer were done by PT4, not you.

Generally agree with this, but I think mentioning poker is less risky when applying for more prestigious jobs - the risk of your employee having gambling (or similar) problems is just not top-of-mind for the more prestigious employers, the same way that it would be for average employers.

Very good point candybar, all I have to know is where to find the information I want and how to apply filters! I bet business analysts are more of an influence over the results of their information systems analysis.
