Yes coinpoker CHPs will fluctuate, but there is little risk in the sense that you can near instantly and near costlessly cash out and trade for whatever you want. Its not like legacy poker sites where you tend to keep a large bankroll on them because of the payment processing fees and wait times.

Probably eventually you can do this on their software and there is certainly coins that rep USD or Euro etc. if that is what you prefer.
Thanks for the info, will def keep a eye on this hopefully it pans out for you . I am sure that the CHP value will rise for people that are investing and hopefully everything runs smoothly. A few big games and known people playing on the skin will def boost confidence.

Interesting. Anyone know what the games are like? I'm tempted to put a couple hundred in the ICO just to play on the client

Can I send eth from my ledger Nano S to the CoinPoker ICO address and receive the tokens at a later date?

I still haven't setup Myetherwallet thru my Nano, but I just want to make sure that when I do, I'll be able to get my CHP tokens...

Yup the software is great, a pleasure and refreshing knowing real competition is on its way to the legacy providers.

Are you part of CoinPoker or just a big believer in the idea? Sorry if that sounds like a douchey question you just seem to know a lot about it.

I'm believer in the tech and the movement it will create in the poker world. I am not a part of coinpoker or any site. But I do know a lot about most of the projects that are emerging. There is a thread on decentralized poker in NVG that discusses this in great depth and a coinpoker thread in "internet poker" forum. I have scrutinized the project and was not pleased at the beginning, but since then things are unfolding quite well. Btw, tony g is backing this project, it will sell out i have no doubt, and he is literally answers support calls in the telegram thread, I mean not on a steady basis but he's definitely making it known that he has a presence in this project

Note that all ERC20 tokens can be managed using Ledger Nano S and Ledger Blue using MyEtherWallet

First things first — make sure you’re using an ERC-20 compliant wallet. DO NOT purchase CHPs via any exchanges, because if you do so, we cannot guarantee you will receive your tokens.

I'm sitting in the telegram chat, didn't get a response to this but it seems completely fine. This post could be moved to the coinpoker thread in internet poker.

Thanks for your input on this. I've got 0.3 ETH in CHP and I'm wanting to buy 0.7 ETH more. I think it will sell out quickly. I'm looking at this as an investment. I'm not interested in playing poker any more.

Yes it will sell out, my impression is there are very big backers for this project and so they will likely make sure it sells out.

Noose you seem pretty well versed on the poker projects. When do you expect we will actually have working decentralized poker?

As for ICO's, will we be playing poker in erc20s or eth?

I've also got some R2B. It's a Ponzi, but a well run one. I'm planning to dump 75% the day they go public.

What's the deal with US players? They happily took my eth and i was playing on the site for hours, thankfully i didn't transfer all my coins from wallet. I didn't notice till just now at the very bottom of the site it says US players cannot participate in ICO. Woops. What about when coins can be bought from exchanges. There's no withdraw option yet also. Rep on reddit says US players can play but they are figuring out situation after ICO. Seems strange they didn't have that part figured out yet.

It's a loaded term. You are using it wrong. Sometimes you mean p2p poker, sometimes you mean take the power from the monopoly etc.

In regard to erc20's, you don't play poker on a blockchain, you do it with non renegeable iou's.

When you can play poker on the blockchain, that's when the real decentralised poker begins via dApps.

With CHPs (did I say that right?) what happens to rake if its value increases exponentially?

Coinpoker looks very cool as a player and being involved with cryptocurrency. But as a investor in this stage of the ICO I'm a bit concerned of the valuations involved. If coinpoker reaches its hard cap, at today's prices, they are raising around 100M USD I believe doing some quick rough math. During the pre-ico sale, ETH price was around $333 I believe and you got 6600 chp. Now ETH price is at $1158. You get 4200chp. Pre-ICO investors getting a 5-1 advantage here in the number of CHP. Only couple months has passed.

I'm bit concerned of them setting such a high hard cap given today's high ETH prices. They don't need to raise $100M to start up a poker site. The team pretty much collects $10M USD without even having real money games yet.

Prices also were $1400 just last week which would make the numbers way worse. Also my memory is little vague, but I don't like that Tony G is the main advisor to this. If I recall 10 years ago or so when I was more into online poker, he was involved in some shady poker site fraud involving some Russian poker site I think? It was almost like a Ponzi scheme if I recall. I'll try to dig it up but can't recall the name now. To be fair my memory is little vague here. Maybe someone here remembers it more.

I only did some rough math for this, didn't read the whole white paper and could be off on a lot of things here but just giving my heads up so far on what I'm aware of.
