I really want to get in Dfinity as well, hopefully very early.

If they do a "normal" ICO, where should I have $ to buy tokens? If they don't, is our best bet just having $ on Binance to buy when its listed?

How are any of these ICOs ever going to be worth anything?

Step 1: Create a new currency
Step 2: Sell it to people
Step 3: Profit

I have my own ICO as well. It's called ScamCoin and I have an infinite number of them and they're on sale for however much you want to give me. PM for details.

Yeah it's laughable - at least for an IPO there is some downside risk.

Short update, the site crashed right after I sent my XLM.... Not sure what is happening now :S. Can't get back onto the site. Money is succesfully transfered to my public key from my stellar wallet though. First time buying ICO stuff so its literally noideawhatimdoingdog over here.

Was gonna jump in mobius until I saw they are valuing them at .5 XLM? Which is like 25-30 cents at current prices, pre-ico was something like 12-15 cents iirc. Pretty annoying.

Yeah, if I knew that I probably wouldn't have done it but it was my first and was eager to see how these things usually work and didn't really stop to think about their valuation. I didn't buy that much but it was indeed 1 XLM = 2 MOB. The whole proces was rather ****ty but whatever, Ill know how to arrange my business better next time.

I mean XLM was also technically around 30c yesterday before the rally so still woulda been around 15c per MOB.

Does anyone have an opinion on tZERO? It's seen significant media coverage due to their ambitious raise goal and the ties to Overstock leadership, but haven't seen it discussed in many of the traditional ICO channels.

I decided not to participate in the Mobius sale; wasn't sure about the value of the coin and was turned off by the lack of communication leading up to the sale. After hearing about the mess I'm pretty glad I didn't bother. I'll keep an eye on it in the future; they say there's no plan to put it on an exchange but that seems unlikely.

fwiw I had a small issue yesterday, emailed Mobius, and the ceo replied within ~20 mins explaining the solution.

I read the white paper today and as a forum of people who understand poker I'm sure people will have opinions on it. I don't think it looks very good. It doesn't offer anything that you cant already get from another room.

I'm sure it will rise in value though as the alt coin mania ensues, but as a long term investment im not seeing it.

Are there whales with enough crypto that they will want to gamble with it even more at poker? Are there pro's willing to risk it for action?

Its not true. Firstly their RNG is provably random from the players view, no site offers that. More importantly their chips are effectively deflationary. There is a finite supply and if you want CHPs when they are all distributed you have to buy them off another player or investor. So they will have their own value that floats on different exchanges. This new pricing signal is going to change the industry significantly from the players view because it will begin to reflect the effective rake of the site.

Also their software is very promising, especially for a beta stage, it is possibly the smoothest I have ever played on. The site is backed by Tony G and seemingly his peers. Their ico is crushing. I think it would be silly if any poker/crypto enthusiasts didn't check this out.

All sites I have played on have a sound RNG I have never heard of scamming that way. The super user, collusion is something i would worry about.

Is the volatility in the crypto market going to be good if it effects your chip value, you may win and during the session the coin tanks or soars effecting your bottom line. Correct me if i'm wrong about how this pokersite will work?

Most serious players aren't worried about rng's however it is not correct to say it is not new. It is novel. You can see publicly that your rng seed was included in the shuffle.

Josem is overseeing the security aspects you are alluding.

Yes coinpoker CHPs will fluctuate, but there is little risk in the sense that you can near instantly and near costlessly cash out and trade for whatever you want. Its not like legacy poker sites where you tend to keep a large bankroll on them because of the payment processing fees and wait times.

Probably eventually you can do this on their software and there is certainly coins that rep USD or Euro etc. if that is what you prefer.
