What are you guys thoughts on the Know your customer (KYC) Process many ICO's are now implementing?

Seems very anit-crypto in the sense that anonymity is king. Also ive read of some of these KYC processes being hacked and these unregulated companies being reckless with very important documents/information.

Seems like the right thing to do. But yeah giving your personal info to basically anyone nowadays seems like a bad idea if you can avoid it.

The anonymity of crypto is pretty much gone. Every exchange pretty much doing KYC and if funding is going out and big companies investing those coins will be using KYC. Even your transactions on the chain are public. If you are going to be in crypto expect to do KYC or miss out on a lot of stuff.

Once it hits exchanges, what marketcap $ amount would stop you from buying on fomo day?

Easily at $1bil mcap or less its a snap buy, but tbh I think its unlikely anyone gets in that cheap.

If by "be in crypto" you mean invest and trade, then I agree. As a user it's still possible to stay anonymous.

Seems like this is about to happen. People thinking it will come to binance and only there.

Is there anyway to set an alert from somewhere when this thing goes live? Or just have to get lucky?

Might be time to get ready to load up. Might have to move some btc around.

Signed up for the Mobius public sale whitelist. Still not sure if I'll participate, need to look into it more, but wanted the option

Id assume binance would have it up asap given its just a fork of eth and nothing new to work with.

Some of the ICOs I was looking at in January:

Most have passed.

I was also eyeing Elastos, but a couple things didn't sit right with me.

Why do so many ICO's exclude people from the USA?

How is it "anti-crypto"? There's a million different crypto projects with a million different goals. If you want to be anonymous, you can, it just takes a little more effort than depositing with a credit card on an exchange.

Oh noes, reckless unregulated companies losing our dox! That would never happen with a legit regulated company like yahoo or equifax right?

Currently reading the whitepaper for https://betbox.ai/, a sports betting hedge fund.

Page 2 starts out with a rather hilarious typo:

In the following, proof of Beatbox reliability will be provided by comparing its predictive power against other online bookmakers.
I wonder how long Aditus will last after the bubble bursts:

Cryptocurrencies are skyrocketing in value. The value of bitcoin, the first and most well known crypto-currency, has increased seven-
fold in the last year. Some alt-coins have even seen growth of a few thousand percent over the last 2 years –indeed no other category of asset has offered such upside in the last decade. This along with the token sale boom and the rich 24-7 trading opportunities has created a growing new community of affluent people –the “crypto-affluents”. The founders of Aditus are veteran entrepreneurs in the luxury space, and we have noticed increasing numbers of such crypto-affluents at our luxury events. However, in our discussions with them, we have received multiple feedback that while many crypto-affluents desire services offered by luxury merchants, they still lack access to it, and feel excluded.
The poor crypto ballers feel left out

It's one of those do-everything coins. It's an enormous undertaking, and I don't think there's anyone I would even imagine having a shot at pulling it off at this stage except Telegram. That said, I think it's a long shot for them as well, but if they do it would be huge.

Many of the features they intend to implement are indicated as being decentralized alternatives of online services that already exist today. I have a hard time seeing that they can accomplish that for all those features. It will be interesting to see their technical solutions, and what degree of decentralization they will manage to accomplish.

It could all be a huge money grab, cashing in on the brand and user base of Telegram. But they also have a shot at being first mover and almost monopolize a new market.

How can I best prepare myself to invest in an ICO regarding payment process.
Is it best to have Etherium or BTC in an online wallet? Seems like timing is everything with all ICOS now and they get bought up rather quick. For a small time investor how can I get ready to invest in an ICO with 2-10 ETH worth while I currently only have coins on exchanges?

the poxy whitelist on apex filled in 15 mins, which i had planned on putting money into. so yeah i agree that timing is everything on ICOs right now.

for sure set up an online wallet. you shouldn't keep it all on exchanges anyway unless you actively trade most of it regularly.

Anyone looked at Datawallet- i like the product and the market, but the fact that they only have 2 team members and are only offering 33% at ICO with no timeline for the distribution of the other tokens concerns me.
