You still have not said what this thread has provided of value to you over the past year. Guess at this point you and others can continue to use it as a comforting tool for each other when someone asks questions that annoy you. It was working fine until de captain starting talking to him. Someone always will, and he always troll-replies, and so you a get page of wasted time on pure nonsense (driven entirely the worthless poster, Monterey) rather than actual useful analysis which is what this serious subforum is for. Remove Monteroy and pure trolls from politics with no interest in BFI, none of this happens. It's not hard. The guy is negative value with ZERO positive additions to this forum.

But the moderators here are foolish (Monteroy is literally 14x down on this thread being of no worth/value to anyone, and he gets to stay? Incompetent moderators who have zero care for maintaining a serious content forum) so the threads get ruined by lack of moderation. It is what it is. It's also why you need moderators who actually read the forum and care about a quality forum.

Hopefully that venting made you feel better and perhaps others will come to support you by sharing their stories for mutual support and love. I understand the need of support groups in these situations, particularly among the feeble, so nice to see you taking full advantage of it when its available for you. Mental health is important in these tricky times as we have seen with the collapse of some other posters in this thread recently. Not sure how whining yet again about moderators helps you in that, but it seems to fill a void for you, so fair enough.

I propose paying the moderators $100/hr. After all, this is the Business, Finance and Investment Forum. Invest is good moderators, and you'll get a better forum. I'm sure TS would be happy to foot the bill, since this is apparently the only 2+2 Forum that he is allowed to post in.

He and others can simply start a forum of their own and put in any rules they like for that forum. To their credit, the whiners that were booted here from Politics a few years ago did that, and while I do not think they made a single dollar from their venture, they did create a nice safe space for them to have the discourse that they specifically want with the people they want, and that has value to a narrow demographic of passive 35-55 year old white dudes, similar to the alt-right demographic that posts in this thread. Safe spaces are helpful to some, and nothing is stopping a collective from this forum to do the same thing in theory, and at that time they can stop complaining about unpaid mods. Never understood the whining about mods that get paid literally zero, and similarly I never understood why people would agree to moderate for zero.

1. Certain people upset that a free, anonymous forum isn't being taken "seriously" by certain other people.

This has already happened. I can name at least 5 good posters who no longer post here because the moderation sucks and the forum is infested with worthless human beings like yourself and Cuepee; we post trades in private chat now. The crappy moderation is directly costing people money and this forum quality.

If the mods don't want to moderate then that's fine (they are unpaid), but if they don't do anything and barely read this forum, so why are they still moderators? Ahnuld etc are busy with making money/life. Seriously good for them. But as far as this forum goes, get rid of them and get new ones. We need active moderators and there are plenty who would do it.

A pretty good acid test to determine if someone is a net negative poster is to see what ratio of posts they've made in the cesspool that is the politics forum.

It's pretty clear guys like Montreal, Cuepee, Monteroy, and OAKF have all come here because they got tired of hearing their own voices in that echo chamber. If they had even a shred of self-awareness they would realize that's exactly how most of us here feel about their voices too.

Putting on ignore doesn't do anything, because they are constantly derailing the conversation with otherwise good posters who feel compelled to respond. This is how trolling works.

I'll bow out as well until some or all of these guys are forced to stay on topic/banned.

Cool. Post a link to their forums and help build their user base. Seems the logical plan given how much you are whining about this place these days. Support a place that will take better care of your needs.


Mods here are unpaid, which is pretty strange in my opinion. I have zero idea why they donate time for no money. I would not do that. You would certainly not do that. As a result, I recognize that since they are unpaid that they can do whatever they like and I will not complain.


Contact the new owners with that suggestion and see how much they place value on it. If they do then you will get your way. If they do not then you can choose to accept that you have essentially a meaningless opinion and continue here or else help create a product that will compete with this and draw in a lot of the current base from here to help monetize that project, or continue to make undocumented fortunes via PMs. You can do some more perfectly timed Bitcoin shorts there. Whatever works for you and your current situation.



Again, make your concerns known to the new owners as you see fit. Write a manifesto or whatever you need to do to make yourself feel better. If you choose to stop posting - that is a valid option as well, and you can follow the others that had some mental deterioration lately out the door. Probably the better life choice for you at this point, so good job considering it as mental health is a very important thing to take care of in these tricky times. That dude above this post with 50 posts will follow you - so there you go, you finally have a follower.
