it's like 7-11 but cashless and everything is self checkout, they have standard convenience store fare as well as ready to eat meals and if the location is large enough a table or two for people to sit down and eat
i saw the first one about a year ago and they really capitalized on the closure of so many mom and pop convenience stores in China and now they are literally everywhere
insane growth i haven't seen since luckin coffee so while there's obviously some red flags there, unlike luckin coffee, this feels legit as luckin coffees were usually empty and these are alway packed full of people - they also are driving the market, ie they'll offer monster energy drinks at buy 1 second one half off and then within a week all other chains are offering the same
today i went in one to grab a drink and during checkout was offered a premium coffee for like 25 cents as a try this out promotion - i tapped yes and paid for it and went to the coffee machine to find out they had a full blown barista service in the back and i wasn't getting their typical vending machine coffee but rather something legit
they still have a lot of kinks to work out, which makes sense because this is brand new, ie the lid didn't seal properly so my coffee leaked out, they didn't even ask me if i wanted milk/sugar etc and the paper cup was so cheap it began to fall apart at the rim before i finished drinking it - but... this was legit some of the best coffee i've ever had in my life, it was some indonesian blend that would normally go for about 3.25 without a special promotion, which is slightly more expensive than luckin coffee but still less than half the cost of starbucks
i'm going to be getting coffee from there pretty much any time i walk past one from now on, that's how good this was, i'm truly shocked by how good it was and i was already going in there stores several times a week already
i see really big things for convenient bee moving forward, it's only a matter of time they ipo in the US, I'm definitely going to be diving deep into it when that happens
