Congrats! Did you keep track of how many hours it took you to go through everything? Doing something like this one the side always sounds like fun to me, but I have never done it on a large scale.

Thats a pretty sick score congrats.

This thread made me just text my dad asking him about the zillions of old cards i have in boxes at his place lol. Mostly sports but i do remember having a lot of magic cards as well even though i know nothing about magic or playing.

Im sure theres nothing there but the years i was collecting as a kid fits like the exact time frame of the expensive sets you mentioned.

To be continued.... lol.

ugh I played in the tempest era and remember ancient tomb so I must've had at least one and that's like 30 now and probably just gave that away.

regarding something there--I went through a friends collection and he had those original dual lands that are like 100 bucks apiece minimum now in his stash (which is more than I sold his for *facepalm*).

A collectible going UP in value, I'm bad at guessing these things heh.

Basically what I'm saying is the odds are at this point with those cards that you've got something just an issue of time spent/value on sorting/selling them.

This doesn't apply so much with sports obviously.

I had probably ~300 magic cards in 1994-95 (grade 8). At some point around 98-00 I gave them all away to a nerdy neighbor because they weren't 'cool' to have. Regret that now. Not for the potential value lost, but because I doubt there was much of value, but moreso for the principle. Wish I had those cards back.
