Google bitcoin mining calculator and go to the first result. Put in your mh/s and see how many coins/month you'll generate. I'd guess it's less than .01

So cool to watch this. Seeing 114 on Mt.Gox. Lots of big buys and sells. I love price discovery in free exchange. Would be much cooler with no lag though!

Yes that is how it works. You should be able to find out how many shares there are in your pool. I guess that if you are really interested in owning some bitcoins and hope to get rich then just buy one or two at the current price and hold them till they are worth millions.

Well I mean I'm on my PC anyway, I figure I'll just leave it on and slowly collect scraps of them, I'd rather not buy any with USD at this point, but I want at least a couple coins, just to make it more fun.

What's the CPU Affinity boxes? Should I check them? i only have 1 out of 4 checked, they seem to be related to CPU cores, checking them makes me do more work?

My estimated payout for this round is currently: 0.00000006 BTC

This bit on the front page of Mt.Gox made me laugh:

We're always on. Buy and sell Bitcoin 24/7/365 with the world's most sophisticated trading platform.

But it is fun to watch. If I were winklevoss I would open a competing exchange. With the amount of real money they have invested in bitcoin it must be worth it for them to have a more reliable exchange.

Genuinely curious if you're looking at that as an investment or a complete gamble?

It's just complete speculation, and considering practically all bubbles look the same as Bitcoin right now (a false "recovery" before plummeting again) it's not even smart speculation.

I'm not saying I would bet against you, because that short time frame is just ridiculous with something this volatile.

It seems like the lag is helping the price not implode. If mt gox opened with 8s lag it feels like we would have seen 50.

Then all the morons buy it at 50 because they think its a bargain - the price goes up a bit and they sell, it goes back to 50 etc. etc. then one day they buy it at 50 an it doesn't go up - it crashes even more, and everyone loses everything... The end.
