BTC isn't meant to save USD - it's meant to give people control of their money. It also can't be printed or conjured up.

They can't get rid of btc but they can try and convince USA and the rest of the world not to use it, which they have in the past through articles (calling it a ponzi and rat poison). The only other thing they could do is make holding it illegal, like they did with gold almost 100 years ago. That won't get rid of BTC but it cause a negative short term affect on the price of it. Trying to ban BTC will have the same impact on USD as banning gold did imo.

I don't see USA going in a positive direction, but i'm still long the stock market as I don't see much other alternative right now.

I'm just wondering if there was any thought behind this or it was just some throwaway line that has no basis.

I sold 25% of my stack at $8, looking to rebuy around $6, maybe $6.25, not sure where it will settle down to. It could even dip back down to around $5 if history is any indication.

I do expect it to continue rising and $10+ is easily possible. However, I bought in around $2, so cashing out 25% at $8 made it a freeroll for me. If there’s one thing I’ve learned with crypto it’s that you shouldn’t be afraid to take profits. I’ve been burned in the past during these moments of euphoria when I didn’t sell.

Did same thing. Sold a chunk of LINK so I am freerolling and can just kinda chill whether it goes up or down. To me it seems like some whales got in late on Link and are trying to shake people out. We are in uncharted territory I think its better to hold on like .01 chance its next Eth.

Haha no I wish it worked like that but I’ll pay the short term tax on my gains and hodl the rest for long term capital gains. Crypto taxes suck and I got screwed in 2017 by not cashing out. After taxes it’s not quite a freeroll but whatever.

Link is on regulated sites now so its easy to figure out the taxes for it. Still a freeroll if you made profit and just hodling the rest.

I was going to read through it until I saw it was recommending everyone short it and instructions on how to do so.

+1

The whole point of crypto is to go long frauds (on whatever level). Shorting is for very liquid, established, USD dominant trading pairs. If you own/control most of the supply or dominant trading exchange that can work as well.

Every alt went -95%, and anyone with any sense saw it coming. What will happen:

>The price will collapse and the crypto collateral backing the losing position can't cover you
>There will be a pump/insider scam and you will get squeezed out along the way
>The exchange closes and simply steals your money, or they pull a Bitmex/Binance and have 'maintenance' until the price is back where they want it
>Short term gains end up with close to 40% taxes, while the upside on a short is capped around 90%
>There is no true liquidity, opening and closing large positions works against you
>Short borrow fees will either be static and super high, or variable and you will have no control

All of this applies the same to BTC, just not so severely.

Hey there! I'm an eager user of Blackcatcard, that a euro prepaid card with hot wallet to use on gambling websites. Normally it is accepted by many bookies but you need to confirm in each particular case with the support of the website you gonna use. For me that's the best option as you can get payout and then exchange it for crypto in the app and transfer to the hot wallet to keep there.

Still have my $9080 short riding from weeks ago. Plus Token is still mixing coins so I can only imagine they are selling. Just a matter of time until it gives way, as they have an endless amount of crypto. Not sure on the BTC numbers, but 800k ETH.

It may happen before, but if they don't extend the $600 bonus unemployment, I think it will add fuel to the fire.

China is dirty, no surprises here. They all hide their orderbooks, they have to make them up before they can exist.

PlusToken sent 13,000 BTC to mixers on March 9 which surely exacerbated the selloff a few days later. From what I've read they still have 50-60k BTC remaining. Personally I would welcome another PlusToken dump/equity correction as that will be the the best time to buy for a long time.

Not sure this really applies, I had a pretty perfect background for interest in Bitcoin - anarchist beliefs, poker + banking issues there, tech background. Which is why I got in in 2011 (just tried to time the market, badly, a few times).

So moving the goal posts I see. Your favorite technique. "Bitcoin will go to zero!" "Well I didn't really mean zero, but people will lose money!"

Bitcoin will have wild swings, gaining 10x or losing 90% at times. Don't invest more than you can tolerate losing.

Why don't you post your amazon and apple stocks in here too? This is the bitcoin thread. There is a separate thread for sh*tcoins.

I bumped it for you.
