When my kids need help with their schoolwork I almost never just give them the answer. I want them to learn to think on their own. I ask them questions in return and I make sure they have the fundamentals covered before proceeding.

Jbouton seems to be taking this same approach with strangers on a forum and I don't think it's working. The internet strangers don't care enough to try. (Maybe I'm wrong?). Fortunately, this approach still works with my kids because they enjoy learning and sometimes like to please dad.

Out of curiosity, how long do you think has the internet been around?

Hopefully Johnny corrects me if I misunderstood. Lot of volatility caused by people buying on one exchange and selling on another exchange that has it priced higher. Now all the exchanges are close to the same price. 40k new bitcoins gonna get released on the market soon then supply will dry up raising demand so prices should start climbing around the end of the year?

Anyone familiar with Voyager Digital? I don't know the company but I like the chart as a crypto play. Got in at 15.9 today and will probably use a stop around 14.0. I know this isn't a trading thread but curious what people think about the company. I'm a COIN customer and absolutely despise it, so I'd love to throw some money at competition.

I got mikeinspace and vlad vamfir to endores the call out: https://twitter.com/mikeinspace/stat...97520178753539

paul said you don't need context to know the intention of the use of a word and used the example of the word 'read'.

I have read.

I will read.

which of these two is meant by the word 'read'?

Oh ya, and i just offered to escrow 100 bux if paul will read one tweet and he can keep it if he doesn't concede his whole point.

to lonely_but_rich I asked this economist, who was already bashing taleb through selgin's arguments, to help sort out talebs use of inflation. His response:

Taleb fooled him with his writing. DUC?

Your answer was correct (but still requires more nuance):

Not everyone can perfectly follow this so people who are following need to explain it in better words than I can give.

As the premium collapsed towards 0% by January 21 institutions stopped buying GBTC as there was no arbitrage to be had. So for the last several months you've had effectively zero demand from Grayscale coupled with 130,000 BTC being released on the market after their 6-month lockup acting as a major headwind (hence the recent price action).

There's roughly 40,000 BTC to be unlocked from Grayscale in July/August and after that it's blue skies as there will be no further source of surplus BTC being dumped on the market. It will take a few months for all this extra supply to be soaked up by HODLers and after that the post-halving supply squeeze should start being felt which is where the dramatic and parabolic price advances are seen and coincides with the end of the bull market ~18 months post-halving.

Haven't been here in months. And I'm instantly reminded why.

The BTC grayscale has is locked up. They haven't sold a single BTC.

So the question is, where do you come up with this **** that they have been dumping BTC on the market?

You literally just made it up as you went along I'm guessing. This is why I'll go back to spending my time elsewhere. Good day my friend.

Pedantic much? Let me rephrase -- "a GBTC equivalent of 130k BTC is dumped on the market."

A cursory look at the GBTC unlock schedule, GBTC volume on/around those days vs. average, and BTC price would reveal they are strongly correlated. GBTC tail wagging the BTC dog.
