You just have to know how to use it. For instance, bitrefill.com lets you turn your BTC into money for most of your major merchants. Amazon and Ebay being a couple of them for a 1% fee. I use it for amazon, if I want to use it for something else I use cardcash.com which you can get gift cards for any place AT A DISCOUNT including an additional 2% discount for using BTC. You get instant e-mail delivery for many of them. So if I'm in home depot or something and need to spend $200, I can go to cardcash and buy a $200 home depot card and receive it instantly and get a 3% discount (1% then 2% more for using BTC) while spending my BTC.
The big box stores have the least discounts, but for instance, I just got back from Top Golf and used cardcash for it to save 20% while spending BTC.
If paypal would let you deposit BTC, now you could also spend BTC at every site that accepts paypal, which isn't the case since they don't allow you to deposit crypto.
