Not sure this is the right thread to bring this up. Also please refrain from making this a political debate. In count 10 of the recent Mueller indictment:
Text of the Indictment

This seems to me to be the US govt taking the position that using bitcoin to facilitate transactions to bank accounts where the money is subject to taxation but taxes aren't sufficiently paid also can result in a charges of money laundering. Seems to me the US govt is going to be quite agressive in discouraging the use of bitcoin. Thoughts?

You see what you want to see. People using bitcoin carelessly for illegal activities is a blessing for investigations.

So... I took the plunge and bought about one buy in at 1/3 this week of bitcoin.

It interesting... I think i may put a little bit into it each month for a bit and see what happens..make it a goal to own 1 bitcoin by year end.

Needed to fund my FX acct. Options were bank wire with a 1-7 day transaction period including transfer fees and FX exchange as my funds are not in USD or Euro plus have to go to the bank in person or BTC.

BTC there is <15min with a piddly fee. It really is convenient.

this is an important horizontal level, and it will be a streetfight. Technically it will cause a lot of people to short this area because of previous breakdowns believing that this level will be resistance.

Well, in the short term the satoshi alt value is 'supposed to' go down when BTC goes up and vice versa, which is what we're seeing now, although obv this lunatic market overcompensates so alts are losing USD value as well. This whole thing that's been happening the past few months (all of 2018 but it's been steadily increasing until it abruptly reversed this past week) where the satoshi alt value increases as BTC goes up is the weird aberration.

rubber has to hit the road at some point and the industry is desperate for progress. when you look down the list of where the big deliverables are...its daunting - bunch of altcoins promising maybe eventually hope so. Theres not much functionality in the immediate horizon.

If ETF actually happens BTC will explode at least temporarily. I bet a lot of fish don't even know about the ETF or mastercard news yet.

If etf doesn't happen we might see a nice buying level again though. Wonder what is going to happen to alts?

People said this last year. Everyone kept money on exchange waiting for the dip that never happened. Then they FOMO buyed and launched the bull rally of 2017

If fish think ETF will cause price rise, and fish fomo, then the price will rise. Whether he is a fish or not doesn't really affect what he stated. Would be keen to hear why you think the price would be stationary or decline if ETF's are approved.
