FYI, I ended up putting 80k into ARK's, which have turned into 30k. That is not a major part of my portfolio, so I might as well keep HODLing at this point along with GOOG and other stocks that I believe in and have been HODLing for a long time...That was a major sucker bet though - gotta call it what it is. If anything, recent fall on 100 GOOG shares hurts way more, but again I am HODLing that one for the long term.

As far as Russian stocks go, I could not buy them on any of my brokerages, so that play was a no go. Probably would have been a good play still (at 10-15% of pre-war values).

I did buy 2 properties in mid-2021, so at least that went well for me (they appreciated 15-20% since then and collect high CAP).

That sucks man, sorry. Glad it's not a major part of your portfolio. I've been nibbling on GOOG this week. It's hard to resist at these P/Es. I think SNAP and other ad-based socials blowing up is more company-specific than economy related although for sure there GOOG can't escape the economic effects. But in an economic environment of ad-dollar contraction I think GOOG will be a net beneficiary from its competitors doing comparably worse and those remaining marginal ad dollars going to GOOG instead.

Think we are skewed way more heavily towards a .com type recovery than a 2020 type recovery for tech. Total index probably recovers much faster than tech, not surprised if the complete wash takes 2 years and the recovery to ath even longer.

She's below SP500 since inception, which was ludicrously easy to forecast, thank god for shorting this year.
Easiest short ever? [post 2008 edition]
