I wouldn't consider those the real "quant" jobs people talk about but there are more of them than the research positions that used to be what quant exclusively meant. The ones you are talking about are the not particularly great Wall St. jobs that are probably less desirable than whatever intro level Apple/Amazon job similarly qualified people can get. Will be a ton of mindless coding either way.
