A decent pre-market on SNDL.

AMC pumping as well. It's a lovely day for the boys.

"Amazon's worldwide consumer CEO Dave Clark announced in a blog post Tuesday that the company has endorsed a federal bill to legalize marijuana and will no longer screen certain workers for the drug."

Certain workers. Interesting choice of words.

It is likely only certain employees because some employees will be required to be screened for marijuana by the DOT. Anybody who is a driver or who may operate a forklift would need to be tested for marijuana.

Buying 10% of universal music group, and not doing a reverse merger SPAC thing. Plus PSTH itself is still going to be a publicly traded company too. Seems unbelievably complicated and the market is not feeling it. I've read the press release and like 5 other "summaries" but from what I understand its
  1. Receive 1 share of UMG on or before Sept 27, 2021. (for $14.75) (PSTH acting as PIPE for UMG). Also keep 1 share of PSTH (valued at $5.25)

  2. $4.1 Bil (1.6Bil from PSH and 2.5 Bil from PSTH) used to fund UMG PIPE.

  3. Pershing Square SPARC Holding (SPARC) has been formed and will have $1-$5 Bil in capital for aquisition.

  4. Each share of PSTH receives a "SPAR" (warrant to purchase SPARC @$20) following the Redemption Tender Offer and Warrant Exchange Offer. $5.6 Bil total if all redeemed. (SPAR can only be exercised IF SPARC enters into a definitive deal).

  5. SPARC + SPAR (warrant from PSTH) jointly will be a $6.6Bil minimum blank cheque company and upto $10.6Bil for the next aquisition.

  6. SPARC Sponsor can purchase @$24 for upto 10 years. (either pay $24 to purchase or receive the difference of market value - $24).

tl;dr 1 PSTH becomes 1 UMG + 1 PSTH (which will pursue another deal) + 1 "warrant" for another SPAC that is called a SPARC for some reason (that will have $10 bil).

So I look on Yahoo Finance and it says AMC short interest is only 21.13% dated May 14, yet Reddit is certain the short interest is a little over 100%. Where do I find this information that Reddit never sources? I don't want to be left trading with outdated and likely manipulated boomer info!

Re: 2021 Trading Thread

Most of the theory centers around that the hedge funds/etc shorting have created millions (unknown actual #) of synthetic shares to keep spinning the game further, which don't show up properly in those short numbers.

I believe the theorycrafting is that when there is a vote or some other situation where shares are recalled, showing the number of votes/shares outnumber the shares that actually exist, this proves evidence of naked shorting and is a catalyst for the SEC/etc to act.

Similar situation played out with Overstock, which is why they issued a crypto dividend in order to expose the naked shorting.

Re: 2021 Trading Thread

I've been loading up significantly on CRSR any time it's $32.50 or lower as a play on continued growth in gaming and streaming and it's my largest non-index individual holding now. Seems like it's actually very reasonably priced (it's priced like gaming has already peaked) and it's been a reddit and youtube darling before, so some chance it has a decent hype wave again at some point (see the parabolic move after the IPO). It dropped 6% today apparently solely on news the CFO sold 7500 shares at 31.5 (half his position), but from what I understand this is rarely anything to worry about? It's already 35-40% below its ATH, the ER was stellar and they upped their guidance, I think gaming and streaming will continue to grow significantly, etc., am I missing something with where this is priced?

I suspect worst case scenario with this is it hits the mid 20s upon a big market pullback but seems like a near-lock to be 40+ within a year or two. Feels about as safe as a growth stock could feel like.

Anyone have thoughts on this one?

The only thing matter is the amount of people beliveing the short interest is very high. I suspect after GME which might been a legit squeeze a ton more of people FOMOd in

Expeditiously writing off Reddit as a bunch of fools would be like lump summing everyone on 2+2 as a winning poker player.

Can't understand people wanting to buy 75+% of stocks at their current prices. A nice and bloody market pullback would be most welcome.
