iirc costco sneaks in a bunch of things not commonly purchased (ie not something where people have an expected price range) at non competitive pricing because people are so accustomed to it being the cheapest place they just routinely shove things in the cart and don't really look too hard

My friend said he put in a bid for this house

The next day he told me someone offered 9+ for it

Will stay inflated until rates go up

Specially since a lot of countries are about to go coocoo for coco puffs on immigration to try and keep the economic ponzi going.

Agree with the above especially for Canada. Would have to double check the stats but I'm pretty sure most immigrants go to the big cities.
I picked up a cheap condo in the downtown core, was the superintendents place so needed some fixing up (kitchen and bathroom renos only) and am now renting it out. Students coming back to Montreal for uni in the fall. Will keep an eye out for other cash flow positive opportunities like that to BRRR but they are few and far between.

Cathie Wood just said she'd be surprised if oil ever reached $70 again. It is currently $65.

Anyone think on this basis alone I should just liquidate anything that ARK is touching? I am genuinely tempted to do it. It feels like turnaround Tuesday is giving me a final parachute.

two scenarios

1$ to 1.14$ = 14 cent profit
1.50$ to 1.71$ = 21 cent profit

How elastic are their sales is the question then, it's mostly cheap stuff so would demand drop off enough to push the equilibrium into a less profitable zone
my thesis was basically 1) the world is taking a breather from covid and whatever boost they got in people panic-prepping is slowing down for a year

2) their entire game is pushing small edges, real estate costs/locations and a large portion of their customer base are people similarly in love with cheap stuff, so a surge in prices is going to mess with their models a little and just 1 incident of sticker shock with a customer is prob gonna have them asking what it's selling for on walmart or amazon. a lot of their brand loyalty is tied in directly to prices. shrug.

gotta love them longterm but i thought it was a decent short candidate for 2021 only

When she's selling AAPL and other quality stocks so she can desperately pump her less liquid overvalued unprofitable futuretech crap it's probably not a terrible time to dump that **** on her. Feels like the ARK rektoning may finally be coming.

We used to sell to Costco (many years ago) but the returns just killed us what a shock that was at the time. At least it prepared us to deal with Amazon with a provision clause. The disruption of receiving 30+ pallets of returns in one shot is a nightmare.

The way they would get around MAP was to bundle accessories for free. Like you get a PS5 with a free controller/game at the same price everyone else is selling the ps5 at.

As for ARK funds - you should know they use AAPL as a proxy for cash so she can sell it and buy the dips. PLTR was hovering in the 16s pre market this morning!

Finger is getting itchy to deploy into this clean energy selloff. But I'm thinking maybe I can be a bit more patient.

Bought TWTR puts at open and got wrecked and sold for loss. Didn't see it has a history of doing gap down and run up. Shorted SPY with SPXS yesterday afternoon so atleast gonna make that back. The gas shortage is awful in my major NC metro area. The news isn't doing it justice on how actually bad it is. Three gas stations around me are TOTALLY out of gas and the next two towns. It's a panic domino effect on any nearby station and I think it could continue over the weekend.

If you're looking for a long term hold in cleantech my two biggest holdings are PYR and HPQ.V but it'll be some time before they blow up for real, the feb highs were all off hype. PYR just made a 20% intraday swing, will be super volatile until they close a major contract.

Well, those XRT puts paid very nicely; the ETF is down over 6% since my post. I'm still in a bunch but am freerolling now.

Last time I checked GME was 6% of the xrt etf and now it's not even in the top 10. The biggest holding now is VRM and it's up 10% after hours on earnings release.
