2019 Stock Picking Contest - Business, Finances and Investing Forum

This contest is open to anyone. It's a year long stock picking contest just for fun. Everybody pick 10 stocks to buy or short. Only U.S. stocks and ADR's. Dividends count. No trading. Whoever has the highest percentage returns wins. Contest starts Jan 1st and ends December 31st 2019.

Post your 10 stocks with ticker symbol and be sure to include if you are short.

I guess I'll post mine now (wanted to see if WATT would still be >$3 when all is said and done)

Short: TSLA, ARKW, ARKK, ARKQ, EZA, WATT, TRUP, TLRY, FAS, SPXL

If WATT is <$3 by the start of the new year, then replace it with NFLX.

No, stocks under $3 are cool. I think last year it really hindered some people like Rafiki.

Awesome. Swapping out APPL (short) for DGLY (long). Forgot about that.

Between that and bitcoin this portfolio should make >30% next year no matter what the market does. Might revise if we keep dumping into New Years.

How do you reconcile a company getting acquired?

Like if I short GE and TSLA and one or both get bought by some company, how does that reflect in the profit margin column for the purposes of this contest?

OTC is fine. Foreign stocks that are ADR are fine.
