cmoooon CSBR. I see the you institutional bot. I will defeat you.

Gambled on 1k DRYS friday and forgot that Questrade won't even let me sell them today. Getting raked over the coals a bit.

Any reason why you let them expire? Might be best to buy them back before they expire and then sell more for a future expiration.

That was probably the smarter thing to do.
I simply did not pay attention because of the kaboom that was RAD.

There are a ton of the Feb $6 puts that have been sold to open in the last few sessions, very curious what the OI looks like tomorrow. Clearly a major disagreement from funds on what's going on here.

My thoughts on RAD at the moment

Since the election and the announcement of the divestiture package, the thought process has been that the FTC would be Republican led and thus would not file suit. The commission currently has 3 commissioners, 2 Democrats, Ramirez and Sweeney and 1 Republican, Ohlhausen. Ramirez will resign on Feb 10 leaving one republican and one democrat. On Friday Bloomerg reported that the FTC staff isn't sold on approving yet.

So currently what could happen is, the commissioners vote before Ramirez leaves, or they vote after she leaves which would result in approval. Previously it was thought that Ramirez would approve or resign before a vote, or even the FTC staff would recommend to the commission to approve. Now people are starting to entertain the scenario in which Ramirez votes to block, citing the FTC pushing through 3 different suits in the past week QCOM MNK ENDP

Be aware of "dark pools"
Quote:
One of the main advantages for institutional investors in using dark pools is for buying or selling large blocks of securities without showing their hand to others and thus avoiding market impact as neither the size of the trade nor the identity are revealed until the trade is filled. However, it also means that some market participants are disadvantaged as they cannot see the trades before they are executed; prices are agreed upon by participants in the dark pools, so the market becomes no longer transparent.[2]

Yeah thanks Jupes I've heard of those but it's smart to keep it top of mind. There's something fishy going on. I know there's profit there but it may not be worth the time parking my cash on it.

I'm in for a decent chunk of NDM.TO / NAK . Unless it suddenly becomes bizzarro world Trump makes this more of a great medium term hold I think.

Long JNUG

wasnt aware many other people were following them. I got interested be the pretty huge insider buying in the last week, and I like the anti-fragile business.
got a link for buy-out rumors?

It's a play on volatility and deregulation, I'm not so sure there will be a deal due to the insider buying. Love the huge volume push though, clearly there is a big gap to fill if it can hold above $18 all the way into low $20s. It's not expensive either given some of the other runs you have seen across the industry since the election.

There goes ATI finally. Took loss on JNUG, holding some GDXJ tho.

UHAL swing trade. Broke out of a nice flag. I'm a long term holder of the stock but took a bunch on margin today.

TRCH oil and gas company buy stop for 1.61. Watching AST and OREX short bias. TRP is a keystone pipeline play it looks like.

Added RAD calls, 8 strike Mar 17 @ 50c

In TRCH. there she goes

Sigh I don't know how I predicted USA.to and WYNN and am still down, like, 10% on the year already. DRYS had a small part in it...

CSBR is finally inching up despite 0 volume. I think I'm finally wearing the bots down.

Another huge bearish trade put on in DKS yesterday guys. Player sells 7.5k March $60 calls to buy 7.5k $52.5/$48 put spreads. Just keep sticking with it, continues to act terrible even on the low volume green days.

For the Amazon clowns, Microsoft earnings yesterday should give you a little food for thought:

Microsoft Successfully Pivots To Cloud, Becomes One Of The Largest And Fastest Platforms

In addition, growth in Azure remained "robust" at 95 percent year-over-year (excluding foreign exchange). Bracelin continued that Microsoft's report reinforces a bullish stance that management "successfully pivoted" to become one of the largest and fastest-growing cloud platforms.
Amazon has early-mover. Microsoft has a moat and synergies. Who do you think wins this battle?

Not often you see MM lose control like what happened today with PCLN, $1590 weeklies were $.80-$.90 under two hours to go and closed at $13.70 (in a chat with a couple guys who had a piece & they were going crazy how much they left on the table). Fun week personally.
