AXON - ouch

Got long TRVG at the open. See if we repeat the UBNT trade.

It's a bad sign when large and small pharmas can't crack an Alzheimer's drug. They show some promise in phase 2, and then fail in phase 3.

Nibbled on FAZ. XLF is flagging at a key area. Taking the short side here. BAC just dissolved an entire mortgage dept today in Charlotte plus recent tech workers. The mortgage seems surprising to me...

I wonder if there's good money to be made blinding betting again drugs for ultra-complex, systemic, probably irreversible problems like dementia or alzheimer's.

People have been betting against small biotechs that do this for 20+ years, you might be a little late to the party but there are always new companies that crop up.

And you can't bet against the big pharmas because of their diversified pipelines. You want to short Biogen (which has an AD drug fast-tracked)? Good luck with that.

Stopped out today on UBNT, didn't see the news yet but presuming it's some sort of upgrade. Finished up just under 6% there, I'll take it. Everything else still running.

HOS on watch, looking to make a big add to AMD position too.

I'm just wondering if trials that initially look promising are far more likely to fail in these areas.

VERI is absolutely insane. I can't find what they possibly have going for them. As an added bonus, 25% is owned by patent troll ACTG.

And an hour later it drops 20%. No idea why.

I did good on RIG with a cost average of 9.05 selling at 10.06. Jumped back in at the open for 1000 shares at 10.27. Also snagged 550 shares of SNAP this morning. I don't use SNAP, but it just seems like too big of a player to not be able to monetize.

While I don't disagree with this sentiment, his call on VERI isn't a good example of that.
09-27-2017 , 01:59 PM
idk maybe haven't really followed VERI too much but his last few calls of NVDA, UBNT were baseless and his arguments were really light.

So i find it completely stupid that a tweet with no facts can send a stock down 20% given his recent reputation.

Small caps with a decisive breakout, monster move intraday.

i think there's a chance this was due to the new russell contract being listed and funds finally needing to rotate into it but idk

This market is such an animal
09-27-2017 , 03:41 PM
yeah i've been watching the RUT outperform for a month now (as mentioned couple days ago)

the market absolutely loves trumps tax talk. i think analysts and skeptics will slow down the tax parade with talks of obstacles. i think its going to be a bumpy road getting tax reform. theres rate hikes out there also. this RUT rally is way over done imo

buying march put verticals in RUT

Question: is it possible to make decent money trading? I really dont know anything about it. Is there such a thing as the "2+2" for trading (like a really good training site that will get you to be a winning player?) How long does it take to get good enough to make money at it? Thanks in advance.

this has been the narrative ever since the first health care bill failure, though. stocks dont care 100 years rick and morty forever up forever and ever.

How would you know if you're wrong on this one? Not just talking about price either... What will be the catalyst that gets you to change your mind? A lot of the Russell weighting is from energy and financial names (which are the two sectors ripping faces right now), both benefit in an end of cycle chase. I'm willing to be convinced the market doesn't prefer gridlock where nothing is getting done. Very difficult to argue what is and isn't priced in, I think you can guarantee at the very least there won't be more regulation.

The same argument about "x being overvalued because it's run a ton" has been one of the worst you can have in this market.

Oil strength still worth taking note of imho

yeah i think "this market" doesn't last forever though. and yeah russell is more weighted in finance. judging by historically sky high p/e ratios, people are betting on growth. with the fed looking to tighten and trump failing to get anything done, there could be an ugly end to this rally/optimism

i'm just waiting for a spike in vix to sell and hedge against my shorts. i'm hoping the dip buyers crush vol after a spike or 3. things just seem insanely optimistic to me and if that changes there could be some violence

just my opinion. where do you see things going by the end of the year? is the spy at 250 or 260?
