None less than 3$?

Why that arbitrary number?

I have to say this 25K max position thing (1/4 of your stack) is a pain in the ass. I know my edges and want to push them.

Still, probably makes it all fairer/more skill based.

Not sure which thread to put this in. This one seems appropriate.

I'm looking to make a fake stock picking board game.

Want it to be pretty basic. Maybe 5-10 different stocks the users can pick. Stock prices would be changed based on randomness. Dice rolls or something.

What are some differentiating factors I can put on the stocks?

Dividends
Voting
Different volatility
Leverage
...

just in ideation stage. does anything already exist similar?

I signed up a while ago. I've been the guy leading the contest. I'm boss s******. I figure the boss s******ing down at them is the feeling the haters get seeing me on top:

Swing trading is a walk in the park for an experienced options trader.

There's no cherry picking. I'm fully closed out.

People already salty that they're getting crushed by the second best swing trader on this forum (jb514 is the best).

You're closing out a TSLA short now?

Didn't think you could be scared money in a free contest, but you are proving me wrong.

Yeah, I meant to reenter around 360 (figured it would bounce today) but got distracted with real trading. I think Tesla is on a big deflation cycle.

If you want to talk about scared money, you could use a little more "scared money" in your real money trades, imo, you wouldn't get your ass kicked so badly taking the wrong side.

There are a number of games that exist with a stock picking mechanic. I'm not sure if any are really what you are going for but they might offer you some inspiration.

I'm 5% below a personal equity all-time high so I'm not sure what you are talking about. If it is/was my index short, I scaled out as the market moved against me the last month/ month and a half (whatever it was) but have hit it big the last four days. That's trading I'm not always right. I'm deep in the middle of my doctorate studies/ working part-time in the field I'm entering/ trading/ and I have a family. I'm not interested/ nor do I care enough to post everyday or keep a running tally. I did try to add value so I posted my trades and thought processes for a while when I had time. Most people including you don't have the balls to put their wins and losses out there. Probably because most are losing traders and afraid of being "wrong." I make losing trades all the time.

Don't worry in about four months I can spend more time here and laugh at you again. I mean is it hard to make fun of/ laugh at someone who creates an intentionally inflammatory handle on a play money stock contest? Or even better, a person who closes out all there trades mid contest and thumps his chest claiming victory? Come on, bruh. You're the same pathetic attention-seeking loser.

You sound defensive, sir.

It's probably easier to make fun of someone with a wifemother who's "deep in the middle of his doctorate studies" and takes time to post about a guy in a contest where he's not even participating? That sir is weird. I at least am a world traveling trader with few responsibilities and free time. You actually have **** you should be doing (according to you) and here you are getting all uppity about a bit smack talk on a play money contest? How bruised, how scarred is your ego to want to do that? I mean it's bizarre.

Keep grinding that PhD bro, 5% below your personal equity all time high (whatever the **** that means - did your wifemother give you an extra allowance this week?).

Missed this. It's going great, why do you ask? Have a 5% lead on the pack still. Like I said, swing trading is a walk in the park for an experienced options trader.

You seem to be struggling, (jefkve -4.40%), do you need some advice or something?

Looks like I moved to 3rd now. Been pretty much just running one strategy. The no under $3 hinders my long setups for the most part. Guess that is still a rule?

Since I'm leading the pack with ease, I'm going to make this a little more interesting. $100 of my own money if you can beat me and win of the contest (except jb514 who is a better swing trader than me). Come and get it if you can.

To claim the prize you have to agree, within the next month, to you displaying a humiliating avatar of my choice for a full month after the contest ends if I end up ahead of you on the contest end date.

Amount may go up depending on how I feel. Contest will be locked to people who agree to these terms in the next month with at least 500 posts on 2p2 OR at least 20 posts in BFI.

It's nice to see some people becoming competitive with the market ripping back to highs on great economic data fueling another nutty bull anticipation run (+6% Apple, Amazon today for example)

Scalping shorts (the strategy the two leaders yours truly and jb514 are taking) seems to be the most reliably profitable activity in this very run up market however, where getting 200% on a stock in a few months (probably the most reliable strategy in normal times) is pure luck now as everything is already inflated badly.

Which is it?

They're not incompatible. The first is talking about the general market (boring, hard to get good profit on for the contest), the second is talking about the bubble crap (stuff like NIO or OSTK) you can make a quick 200% on if you pick very well. The crap like these are so bubbled up now that it's a tough ask to find something (with skill) that can moon and take you ahead in the contest, it's nearly entirely luck at these highs after the Great Robinhood Bubble of 2020.
