Taking a Stake Offer???? Taking a Stake Offer????

...I posted this in another group of threads.."Beginners Questions"...Just really want some advice.

So I play regularly at my local bar and by regularly, I mean sometimes up to 4 times a week (all the days they have poker). We play hold em, taho, omaha, and split. This place is a 1-5 game. I've done very well, and everyone at the table now is all friends. Great place to play. I've hit 2 royals in a month. I've become great friends with the dealer, and she has helped coach me with how to bet, when to bet, when to fold, and when to be really aggressive. Anyways...I'm playing on Saturday and another player/dealer mentioned another poker room (which I've been wanting to play at. This place is a 5-40, minimum buy in of $100. Really nice looking room too. So Brian mentions it, and I told him how I want to save up and play there really bad. He then offered to stake me $300 to play tonight. I asked him why, and he said if I play how I normally play I would make a lot of money. I asked my regular dealer (Cheri) what she thought.

She told me that he is trying to basically steal me from her game, that he'll buy me in and then try to make me become a regular over there. Now I know for a fact even if I wanted to become a regular at that place, I couldn't afford it. Plus my loyalty is with Cheri and Fattboys (my bar- anytime I play somewhere else on the days they don't have poker, I feel guilty). Cheri told me she has faith in me that I won't get trapped and feel obligated to continue to play there.

Any opinions and reasons why I should or should not let him stake me? I'm leaning towards I should. It's basically free money to make money with. Any other ideas as to why he may want to offer me $300??? I don't want to get into a spot like in rounders, where I'm getting juiced everywhere and owe someone like KGB $100K..I don't think this would turn into that...but I'm not sure. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds fine to me. If you want to play in a game, can't play in that game, but are being offered a fair stake for the game... I think you take it.

What do dealers make on these games?

Before responding, do you want me to edit the names of some of these places out of your OP? I don't know how live poker games are viewed (your location combined with bar name combined with dealer names is worth thinking more about).

They are already edited. But thank you very much for looking out.

Played the game....Did GREAT! doubled the stake in 30 minutes...then it went down hill. I had a few horrible beats. The one that sticks out the most??....

We are playing Omaha High
In my hand 9 9 X X (don't remember, but nothing good)

Flop comes: 3s 9c 7h

First guy bets 40
next guy raises
I call

Turn comes: 5c

First guy 40
Next guy raise 40
80 to me, I call

River....where I get ****ed! Kc
First guy 40
Next guy raise 40
80 to me, I call

We all turn over....first guy had 3 3 Ac Qc
next guy 7 7 X X
Killed me! I had it the whole way..until the river! I should have raised them at the beginning. I know, but I wanted the action...didn't want them to fold too soon!
