A table you don't want to sit at. A table you don't want to sit at.

Hello, I'm new to the online poker community and I had a question (sorry if this post isn't in the right place). As I do research about cash games (.02/0.5 nl 6 max specifically), I'm seeing often that I don't want to sit at a table with regs or quite good players (on bovada), but to find a table with fish. With a max buy in of $5, if I see a table full of players that have $10+ stacks, am I to assume that they've been playing that table for quite a long time, and they're not bad at poker? I'm also assuming that if you ever build your stack up that high, it's not a bad idea to try and play it for as long as possible. Thank you!

Just because someone has a big stack, it doesn't mean that they are a good player. Someone who doesn't know the rules of poker could jam 82o and stack AA. They're probably awful but can have a huge stack depending on how they run.

Things to look out for when seeking soft tables can include; people who limp a lot and people who buy in for less than 100bbs. There are other things like people who one table, people who chat **** in the chat box but I'm not sure if they're relevant to Bovada as I've never played there.

Good luck

Goes in Beginner questions. And no someone having a huge stack does not indicate they are good at all. Sit at the table play your game if you think the table is too tough just move.
