Should i have played this differently?

Hi I have been playing on and off for a few years but only now started to try and take it up more seriously as a hobby so i reseached on how best to start and the two main peices of advice were to get pokertracker4 and to post hand histories on forums so here is my first ever post. Any advice will be much appreciated.
