People!... Im looking for some advice to approaching my situation.

Here goes... I played poker at the local casino and home games for 5 years straight generally $1/2 - $1/3 - $2/4 games. I dropped out because I lifestyle reasons (left with money money in my bankroll) and went back to university and completed a degree plus some other extra subjects.

Now that my lifestyle issues are solved Im looking to get back into playing. I've done a lot of 'off the table' study. What should I do? Play online or play home games? ... I'm not really keen on the casino. How should I approach re-entering poker?

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance - Boogie

Its a shame you are not keen on casinos cos thats where alot of dead money is.

So many options online with different formats etc. My advice is start low in 1 game and format, find your niche and crush then branch out after winning lots when time permits.

I can send you more info by email? Pm me your contact details and I can send lots more useful information that can help your development and earn more money.

There are so many drug addicts and drug dealers in the casino. I just don't wanna be around those types of people. Which are the best sites to play online? Supposedly, online poker is rigged. Im conflicted between playing tournaments or cash.

I think I may start playing tourneys casually or start on the $1/2 or start my own home game. That way I can invite the people I want (classy people rather than scumbag degens)... Which site do you suggest?... Rather than seeking coaching I'd prefer to find some peers to discuss hands and consider different perspectives on situations... I'm not inexperienced by any means, but one thing I realised was that I was playing for years as a lone wolf but learning from every positive or negative outcome... Having some astute peers to engage with would be good...

Hand history reviews probably the best thing for you.

start slow until you pick your groove back on. Casinos are a good option since there are a log of money on the table, but yeah, i feel you, the environment is not healthy, but again, you should be able to block all of that out and focus on your game.
