OP can't afford coaching and is obviously green with envy towards those who can and decide to.
Interestingly enough, despite not being able to afford coaching OP can afford lawyer consultations regarding the coaching he cannot afford.
Irony
BTW OP I'm just teasing so don't get your panties in a bunch.
FWIW, the reason why coaching is good for a lot of people is because you receive personal attention to your game. You receive personal attention to your thought process. There are plenty of players who are watching a ton of videos and posting hands but not absorbing the right information. How many players see or know the right play when they're going over hands post session, but in the moment at the table they make a less than optimal play? A lot I would say. The reason? Your thought process is much different when you're at the table vs. when you're reviewing. A coach with a lot of experience will be able to help you recognize what's wrong with your game specifically regardless of what you absorb watching vids/reviewing. It's the personal attention to your game and decisions that matters.
Are there good coaches and bad coaches? Sure. Just like every other service offered out there in the world there's a ton of choices and options, research and find what fits you. Obviously with cases like Potripper looming about people have a reason to be on the hate, just do your homework and you'll be fine.
Coaching is what you make of it. It's like buying a new box of crayons with a ton of awesome cool colors, if you decide to use the new stuff your pictures will change, if you stick with the Chrome and Seaweed crayons you've always used, your pictures will stay the same and your new color equity will go down the tubes.
