hello there,
i started as a hardcore fish around 2008 (mostly cashgame back then before switching exclusively to tournaments) and worked my way up with 2+2, pokerstrategy, deucescracked and some books (harrington on holdem 1-3 and NL theory and practice by sklansky up to NL25 and NL50) but always failed to consistently perform and improve due to tilting when i was donking away my time for a laughable $/hr instead of taking care of my (back then barely-existent) education and life.
as a consequence, i quit and got my sh_t together, resulting in a completed tax assistant vocational training, a finance b.sc. and a new consulting job starting next week (
).
nevertheless, my passion for poker still exists and i have grinded some tournaments between the years while digesting. so while i'm pretty tilt-free and relaxed since my attitude obviously changed, i am not happy with my game. sharkscope gives me a score of 72 where i don't know whether it's my current or my overall score since 2008, but i doubt many of my decisions and got various leaks i know about and probably even more i don't know about.
as a result and because i have way less time now than i had back then, i am unwilling to spend more time playing micros with a 20% roi or break-even or as a small winner or whatever hoping for a big cash without significant work on my game. therefore i'm looking for:
- advanced poker literature recommendations
- coaching-websites/community recommentations (with reasonable pricing for someone who currently has zero stake in the game, so no "raise your edge"-stuff for 800$)
- possibly coaching in exchange for a profit-split but i won't be able to make promises regarding volume
- recommendations regarding useful software (i own pt 4 and starshelper)
- anything else that i'm missing here. maybe also a study group (yes, i noticed the official thread)
PS: as promised:
PPS: thanks in advance
