Hello,

I need help with a little something. What is the mathematical formula for the poker hand strength the one showed on TV.Calculate from the cards the player holds and one in the flop.

Say the player holds Jack and seven of spate suited.
The flom is Ace of heat, king of diamond ,and a seven of hearts.
How do i calculate in percentages the hand strenght .
Thank you very much

use propokertools.com and simulate. you can also figure it out yourself by hand. in hold'em here's a trick : multiply your outs on the flop by 4 or on the turn by 2 to get your equity.

I dont think that is what he is asking.

If I read it correctly he wants to know how strong J7 is on that AK7 board. That question is basically impossible to answer. It depends on so many things. You could put it in one of those tools and pit it against a 100% range and see how it does against that, but the information you get will be fairly useless.

It's by no means impossible. Of course you do need to estimate a range which villain gets to the flop with, based on the preflop play. Once you've estimated that range, you can calculate your equity on the flop against said range, using Equilabs or a number of other tools. Or indeed manually if you prefer, but that would be much more painstaking.
