I apologize in advance if this is not the correct forum for this, but I was wondering if either coaches or students who have had/given coaching for a percentage of profits could outline would a typical deal of this type would look like.

I am not looking for a coach myself, but I am looking to coach a friend and wanted some guidelines to what a fair deal would look like.

Depends on skill level of player and potential.

Also depends on how many hours/ hands that player is going to play per month and what stakes

It also depends on the skill, experience, success of the coach. i doubt most really good coaches would do a for profit deal unless the student is friend.

That said there is no standard deal. I would just suggest that both parties think win-win.
