Much has been made about the different approaches/products offered by these training sites in another thread.

Here's what I'm suggesting :

4 tables 6max NL 1/2k (?) - each site nominates 3 tutors. (12 players on two tables each)

Each Tutor records the match from his perspective and the vids are made available as comparison intros to the different sites/styles within a new thread.

I think all of the sites have done something similar between the site tutors and I believe it would be of interest to see an inter-site vid.

Anyone see any mileage in this ?

GP, STOX, GREG, KRANTZ ?

Even just from the fun aspect !

I don't think this would be a great basis for judging the sites, but it would still be awesome.

Yeah, it would be great entertainment but would prove nothing. Deuces Cracked is the best because their instructors teach using the best methods from any site to date--they don't have the collective skill level of GP, CTS, Townsend, etc., but they have close (really successful high stakes players such as Krantz), and their methods are much better IMO for coaching. If they played, who knows who'd win b/c of variance, but even if the better squad won in the long run, it still wouldn't prove anything about which is a better instructional site.

And I may be wrong about the skill levels of the best high stakes guys--this is just my opinion.

I never thought of this as being a basis for judging which site to join.

I just think it would be excellent PR for all involved. And yeah great fun/entertainment.

I think this is an excellent idea also but agree with other posters that it is rather narrow criteria for deciding which site to join.

We have 8 videos that are completely free and 3 minute clips of all the others . . . ultimately I think comparing free videos on the sites and asking for feedback from customers will help you arrive at the best decision for you personally.

You are not going to go wrong with any of the choices but it will boil down to a personal preference when you find the instructors that you really connect with in their teaching style and game of choice.

Of course it would be ridiculous to judge the sites based on who WON. The judging would be based on the quality of the analysis the different coaches offered and simple things like whether you happen to enjoy their personality, etc. This still wouldn't be a good way to judge the sites, but I suppose it could be helpful to a few people. What I look for in a site is creative videos and video series beyond the simple "watch me play and commentate for 50 minutes" style vids, and of course you want to make sure the games you're interested in are being covered, etc. Obviously sample size is a factor as far as analysis goes too.

Make this happen Stox =) Im sure all the sites would get a great feedback from each coaches viewpoint of that game.
