Looking for someone to turn me into a winning NL5 player Looking for someone to turn me into a winning NL5 player

I play on the lowest stakes(NL5) on ignition. I got into poker earlier this year and aspired to play seriously and tried my best since to learn the game. I experimented with all kinds of different strategies at first but looking at my graph it seems like I'm just going to keep trending downwards no matter what I do. So I eventually got demotivated and quit.

My poker experience includes reading: Ed Miller's Playing the Player, How to Read Hands at No-Limit Holdem, The Course, Poker's 1% and Sklansky's No Limit Hold 'em: Theory and Practice; watching a lot of youtubers like Brad Owen, Poker Bank/SplitSuit, Daniel Negreaunu; and I've also read a bit but not a lot on GTO: MDF & bluff frequency, and the simplified AAKKQQ toy game for value/bluff catching/bluffing. Coaching is really the only thing I haven't done.

I recently picked up poker again after a few months of not playing since ignition gave me $5 credit a few weeks ago and had a good run with that but somehow lost it all once again.

This is my graph for this month:

Ignition gave me another $30 more for Christmas but honestly I'm pretty demotivated to play or throw much more money into this game so I'm really looking for some help to stop being a shitreg!

Hey man!

I dont offer coaching, nor am I interested in doing so or good enough to, but as a 10z grinder who has been where you are, I would say start by reading the grinders manual, it gives a good way to think about poker online and exploitatively, dont worry to much about GTO just yet.

Try to get in a lot of volume and join some free discord study groups, there are tons with good micro and midstakes winners who can help you and offer free sweats. You dont need to pay for coaching yet imo, but if would have lots of money, you could.

Also, go to PT4 and stats tab and post those screenies by position.

Here are a few good discords: https://discord.gg/WHJ2MZbQ, https://discord.gg/MwF7UU2b, https://discord.gg/JUUr3pVp

Thanks for posting those.

I mean everything I am about to say in the most constructive way possible and I dont intend to belittle you with my comments, I am trying to be honest about what I see in your stats to help you.

Based on your results, I would suggest playing only 2nl till you post 25k trailing hands with atleast a 3bb winrate. You may feel you cant play serious at that stake because $2 is not a lot to you, but think of it in big blinds, and consider it a cheap training ground.

I am by no means an expert, but there are a lot of identifiable leaks in your stats. For starters, preflop, you are way to wide between VPIP and PFR. You need to eliminate limping preflop. I would suggest using a set of ranges and sticking to them. I am a big advocate of GTOWizard (https://app.gtowizard.com/) It is paid and geared to GTO, but ALL the preflop ranges are free and browsable. I would suggest these ones: https://app.gtowizard.com/?gametype=...eral&depth=100

Now, obviously you dont want perfectly GTO ranges at the micros as people are exploitable. But, you have many significant leaks which means you likely arent experienced enough to exploit weaker players yet. So, try out those ranges and stick to them 100%, dont deviate at all. No limps, only raising preflop.

Once you are an experienced, studied winning player, subbing to GTOWizard for postflop solutions is amazing value with a ton of features. I am a HUGE fan.

I would also strongly advise reading the grinders manual, it will help you understand how to think about poker. However, and I dont mean this in a rude way, you indicate you have already read many poker books, yet your stats indicate you havent digested many basic poker concepts. Can you explain your thought process behind some of your preflop decisions? Do you tilt on the tables?

Anyway man, despite your leaks, asking for help and looking to get better and admitting you are lost is the first step. Check out some of those free discords, also this YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/NickEastwood/videos

Also man, be wary of microstakes players offering coaching, or charging for access to study groups. The poker coaching market is saturated. Many people overcharge for what they are worth, and there are a lot of snake oil salesman. In my opinion, a poker coach should beat atleast 25z before they charge, EVEN if they are teaching a total newbie.

Funny anecdote about this, I remember years ago when I started and was breakeven at 2nl, I was in a discord group with 2 main other active guys, and we studied and sweated a lot. One of the guys wanted to charge for access to it! Me and the other guy thought he was nuts! We were 2nl and 5nl players. He didnt mean harm, but really, I knew even then that there were hundreds of equally or better groups like ours.

In my opinion, every reasonably intelligent person can beat atleast 10z without formal paid coaching just by studying free content available online. There are simply enough fish who dont study or try and improve to not win if you work hard. Granted it might not be easy, it has taken me several years to beat the micros (granted I work full time with other hobbies, and have taken many breaks from poker in that time).

Try reposting everything youve said here in this forum with the stat pics I requested: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/6...t-holdem-cash/

You will get many responses from many solid players.

If you're losing at the rates you are, I cannot imagine you're taking poker seriously.
Just having proper RFI ranges will make your win rate go up massively.

Anyway, take a look at my coaching thread, if you really are serious about poker, I can help you become a winning player.

You state verbatim, in your coaching thread:

"I will not actually teach you how to become a winning player. Instead I will guide you towards the information you need.
I can point out which parts of your game need work, but you'll have to work on them yourself."

That seems to contradict what you state here.

Hi Raine,

I can see that you're struggling. Just from a quick look at your positional stats I can definitely help you in multiple categories.

Below is my coaching thread:

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/2...ching-1799954/

I'm probably expensive for a micro stakes player like yourself, but I'd ask you to weigh that vs losing another 800-1000$ over 25K more hands.

I offer a free 15min Skype consultation - I'd be happy to talk about improving your game and putting you on a new path. Send me an email (in my thread)
