Hello everyone,

I started playing poker just over two years ago. I estimate that in total I have played over 300,000 hands between bovada, chico, wpn, and global poker. Have been off and on with how serious I am but since May I had been back to studying and playing as much as I was working or going to class. I taught myself everything up to having a decent understanding of 6-max cash gto and mtt chipev and ICM. I grinded extremely hard at cash games, spent 40,000 hands on acr this year since june and was doing okay and then at some point I lost all confidence in my play on that site and my bb/100 took a nosedive. I switched to global poker and I'm definitely winning easily at the micro stakes but I am struggling to breakthrough to consistent earnings and have not been able to be profitable over any sample yet in mtts, however I have had multiple second place cashes and more than enough min cashes to know that I'm not just luckboxing in to the money. In live 1/2 cash games I have been able to profit over small sample size at all rooms played. I currently use gtowizard for studying and when I do play on WPN I try to review my hand history after sessions. For global I am able to save significant hands, and have been doing that some. I am currently a student in my final year of undergrad and I'm hoping to get into grad school so I left my bartending job because of the extreme late nights but my schedule is extremely light. I only have classes on Tuesday and Thursdays.

It may be worth noting that I am a winning plo8 player at basically any stakes I have played and have been dipping my toes into omaha recently with some success at micro stakes. I honestly do not have a major preference and enjoy any game I think I can have an edge in.

What I am looking for: A coach to guide me through becoming realistically profitable at poker as a profession. I would also need this to be a coaching for profit situation as my current life roll doesn't allow me to play at stakes in which I would be able to afford hourly coaching. I want to learn everything from the table to taxes and how to be efficient and effective on and off the poker table.

What I am bringing to the table:
- While it may or may not be necessary I am willing to completely reinvent my game from the ground up. I will happily listen to someone explain to me that a flush beats a straight.
- I'm extremely dedicated when I commit to something. For example, while out of college I picked up photography and was working commercial jobs in less than one year.
- I am an obsessive and rational type personality with an extreme desire to succeed and the skills to do so in most critical thinking applications.
- I am willing to invest as many hours into coaching as someone will give me. My schedule allows total freedom on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and next semester I will have just as much availability. I have a social life but it is not a priority and at least 3/4 weekends per month I'm happy to grind both days.
- I am willing to play 0-30+ hours per week depending on what a coach deems to be beneficial to my game at the time.
- Access to recent 40k hands on WPN through PT4 and willing to do a full fund audit on Global Poker to get an exact win rate. Also have a GTOwizard subscription.
- $1000 bankroll (will not be able to add personal funds to this for the rest of 2023)
- I have a legitimate resume with years of work history in restaurants and more recently high volume bartending as well as some other fields. I understand the commitment level required to be a professional in highly competitive fields like photography and academia.
- Parents live in middle Florida so I have easy access to soft cash game and tournament fields in December and the summer. I would be hoping to have a bankroll of close to 5k to be able to grind 1-2 when I am there as soon as possible. (I go to school in a state with no poker, this is going to change when I go to grad school)
- I am able to provide both professional and academic references that can validate the claims presented here.
- I am a single 25 year old man with no roommates and I have no intention on letting anything distract me until I can achieve financial freedom.
- Essentially debt free besides student loans and have an extremely low nut living cost.

Due to my limited understanding of the staking/coaching/backing world, I'm not sure that I would feel comfortable joining a stable and would be primarily looking for a 1 on 1 mentor-student situation.

If you have read this far, thank you very much. I'm very serious about becoming not becoming just a winning player, but hopefully one of the best in the world (I know some people may chuckle at that statement but I believe most humans can become elite at tasks they fully commit to). I'm ready to start immediately and do not start university classes for 3 weeks.

I don't think I can pm yet so maybe that could be enabled? If not please leave a method to contact you in your response (if thats okay, I try to read forum rules before posting but I am still somewhat new to 2p2) and I will send you a message. I am happy to send my professional resume to anyone who may know someone who could help me with this.

Hey jdjd98,

I am currently in a very very similar place to where you were when you authored this post.

Some of the details are different for me but I am in a very similar overall situation wanting to commit to poker and looking all over the place for a good CFP 1 on 1 mentorship situation from someone with a proven track record of success in MTTs.

I know it's been a few months since you authored this post so if you could reach out to me with any advice or recommendations on what you've found since this, I would truly appreciate it!

dude, it's your last year of college, you should be out there living and soaking up every minute of it

you can be a miserable twat reg like the rest of us studying solving in a year or two, it's not going to go anywhere

for real, this is the final year of unfettered social interactions - it's all downhill from here on out

Hey Jarrett,

I am Elias Holloway, an NL20k high-stakes crusher!

Let me tell you - MTTs are hard. If you want to make money with poker play cashgame. Way less variance and I know 10x as much people making average 10k months. Trust me.

If you are interested in becoming a cashgame crusher as well you should listen:

I'm starting a 4-Week Crash Course next week, and it will teach you exactly how to do this. I have created a 60+ video crash course detailing my exploit-driven base strategy, which helped me crush from NL2 to NL5000 with a 14.2 bb win rate. It is structured, covers every spot, and explains the reads I have on fish in these spots. It also teaches a blueprint strategy I crafted based on these reads. You will love it! The course includes 9 hours of group coaching where you can ask me any question, including one mindset coaching session aimed at fixing tilt issues and developing a winner's mindset.

Check it out and let me know what you think! GoPokerPro

If you like the coaching and are interested in a long-term coaching for profit agreement, you can join the Crushers Group afterward. There, you will learn everything from exploiting fish and weak regs to playing solid GTO to compete at the highest stakes. It is pretty challenging though and aimed at people willing to commit and dream BIG!

If you have any questions - PM or support@gopokerpro.com is the way to go. Would love to hear from you!

Best regards,
Elias Holloway - Head Coach of GoPokerPro
