This is ****ed up. How can they let the small percentage of players who diddnt get kicked out just keep playing and basically auto final table these tourneys? I dont play online too often, has this happened before?

I've now been able to get back in. Was already busted in the tournament.

Lots of big names on twitter talking that they were affected as well....no way WSOP will just let this slide....

Finally received the $320 BI back.

Not happy at all with the results. I would have much rather played a fair tournament and stone bubbled then to have a decent stack semi-deep in the tournament and D/C and get my BI back.

I imagine though WSOP is just going to skate on this one and nothing else will come of it.

I never received my W2G from my July score. I'm currently on my 17th e-mail chain with 5 different people from Casears/WSOP.com and they still can't get me my W2Gs LOL!

They sent me to a registration page, but it requires a validation code that they never gave me and I can't get it resent through e-mail. What a Fing joke LMAO!

Anybody else have this issue or are able to get their W2Gs fine?

I haven't received a single W2G from 2020 yet, I assume I will get them all in a chunk at the end of the year. This is how they did it for 2019 for me (at least for 80% of the W2Gs).

Does anybody know where the notes file is stored when using the client on a Mac computer? My main computer (Windows) just died and I'm temporarily using a Mac laptop to play.

I know on Windows it's in my documents/wsop.com/username, and I backed up that file, and now wish to "import" it onto my temporary computer which is the Mac. However, I can't seem to find the folder where the "notes.xml" document is stored.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nevermind--figured it out. You have to right click and "show package contents"--the app file is secretly a folder (on mac)

Anybody have a clue who EarvinMagic is? I see him all the time sitting at high stakes. He was just dueling with Doug Polk earlier.

WSOP online is a bunch of bullshit. I was in a session for 28 minutes playing hold'em and saw 5... FIVE!!! 4 of a kinds! GTFO- this **** is so rigged it ain't even funny. Taking me back to the old Joker Stars memories! Really Sad. I was really hoping WSOP would be a legit outlet.

Thinking of playing an online satellite to the WSOP (December version) Main Event on WSOP.com. Does anyone here know how winning a seat in an online satellite to the Main Event would be treated in the USA tax wise? I mean would they send you a tax form for the 10k "win" even if you didn't end up cashing the Main Event? Or would the satellite win be considered no cash value like when you win lammers to the Main Event in Vegas live WSOP?

I would assume 0 tax forms. It’s just an entry to a tourney. Anything you win from that would get you the tax form.

If you figure you are 'winning' 10K when you win entry into the main event you are also 'losing' 10K if you bust out of the main event without cashing. You really just lost your satellite buy in.

OTOH if you cash in the main event then your winnings for tax purposes are what you cashed minus your satellite buy in, not the 10K main event buy in.

I'm working under the assumption that if I win a seat, I'm going to get a 1099 like you do for every other 5k+ cash on WSOP. The fact that you might lose 10k in a later tournament, I think, is irrelevant to their reporting policies but obviously you can use that loss to offset the 9.8k win when you file.

I am hoping that's not the way it works because I am a recreational player and we will be taking the standard deduction this year. So if they gave me a tax form for the 9800 satellite "win", and then I didn't cash the Main I wouldn't be able to just offset it with the $10k "loss". I would just be out close to 3k in taxes even though I didn't win anything.

I know it might sound like a silly thing to worry about, but if that turns out to be the case I might pass on playing a bunch of satellites this year until the Main Event is live again when I can win my way in using the lammers the WSOP gives you for winning live satellites, and not have to deal with that annoying tax scenario.

That sucks. I feel like there's a solution where you don't have to pay on income you haven't actually made, even if you take the std deduction, but I'm not nearly smart enough with that sort of stuff to try to give advice. Maybe contact someone for a consultation? I know Russ Fox is really good with helping out people in the community, you could try dropping him a line and seeing if he has a couple minutes to spare?

This is the sort of question you should ask your accountant, not random people on TwoPlusTwo poker forum. It's quick to do and you will actually have peace of mind upon receipt of the response.

That post was 9 years ago. It might hold true but would rather find updated material if I needed it. Also Florida for sure does some messed things with gambling that they don't need to.

I won a seat and they did not send me a tax form for it.

I called WSOP.com phone support, got ahold of someone there who seemed to know(?), and they said winning a seat shouldn't be taxable because you are just winning a seat in another tournament rather than actual cash. Also, from what I can tell online it appears that in past years when the Main Event was live, winning a seat on WSOP.com did not generate a tax form. So it appears probable, at least to me, that the WSOP won't send Main Event satellite winners a tax form this year, unless they end up cashing in the actual Main.

Looking forward to playing some Main Event sats online in Vegas, well assuming Vegas will still be open next month.

All I've seen are nightly $215s (No Gtds) and that $320 (5 seat Gtd) scramble on 12/13. I hope they start doing more of those scrambles, some $100->$1k steps or a $500 10 seat Gtd.

Anybody know if they are going to post the satty schedule or do we have to wait and see within the client?
