Okay so they added another tournament for the 21st to the MTT schedule. Looks like it's not happening after this week either. Idk where the pokerfuse article got the idea that the regulators haven't approved it yet since I can't find it anywhere else but this is looking like it's not happening soon.

Nothing wrong with trying to be the first to report something, but Pokerfuse created this narrative, timeframes and so on without really any official statement from WSOP. They seem to be reporting speculation over facts and that in essence puts WSOP in a tough spot.

True. WSOP did however not offer any bonuses this month and have been playing with the schedule in a way that makes it seem like they are planning something so it isn't just purely speculation. I feel wsop at this point point should say something at least or ad some promos. Like you said they should just have AI draft a statement it would take no more than a few minutes. Would love to know if they have a source on the regulators holding things up and where they are hearing that's being tested right now.

only update for today is that it's probably not happening monday like we thought it might. So yeah "maybe" soon, or pokerstars got to the MI regulators and got them to throw a wrench in the plans so that thy get to keep most of the traffic from the 10.3 mil population of MI.

Stars is I believe banned from entering Nevada. I read it was up after 12 years. What’s a head scratcher is MGM just letting “if” this happens, WSOP dominating for the foreseeable future. Usually one follows the either and we shall see. If stars were to pull that off, I’d imagine next year there tourney series in Vegas at Resort World might get some push back. Technically Stars and MGM both hold series in Vegas but neither operate in town. Caesar I believe is making the right move especially if they can get this done in the next 5 to 10 days.

MGM told the regulators last month that they would open poker in NV within 1 year, they were working on some sports betting stuff and then they would focus on the online poker.

Also, Z24 I think it's called that runs one of the free social poker sites now is likely to open early next year, so that is 2 possibilities to open before 2025 WSOP.

By then hopefully PA has joined the multi state and is ready to go, along with a few other states that are good possibilities.

All this sh*t has to stop. Its insane.

Can you imagine being a regular like this who just expects everyone to start games for them?

Put in some time. Take 1cent the worst of it.

As i understand it, this behavior is 100% against TOS, no? They should ban guys like this.

The folks at Pokerfuse really sitting this one out now. You would think they would be reaching out to whatever contacts they supposedly have and giving more updates for this potential game changing landscape in online gaming. Instead, re posting articles on a NY gaming bill that will probably never pass and DNEGS driving around in a van with 888 poker who is closing shop in the states in June. Great journalism!

Hi Sam, co-founder of pokerfuse here. Sorry you feel we've dropped the ball. I must say, I'm really proud of the coverage from our team on this one. Here's content we've done in the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure how you think we're sitting this out?

We've been super transparent about everything we've reported. We stand by everything we've said here. We don't really have a particular angle or narrative to drive. We know WSOP is hoping to launch shared liquidity this side of summer. They wanted to be live by now. We know 3-state testing is on-going. We know this requires approval before it goes live.

I understand this is super frustrating for everyone. We've been doing this for 12 years, so we know what this is like. I'm sorry if you think we've been pushing some false narrative. We're just reporting what we see, and if you read what we've written, i think we have been very clear about what we know, what we don't, and why we think what we do. We have literally seen the three-state network in testing, on the new software.

WSOP don't know when they'll get the green light, so we can't give more detail than we have. And yes, WSOP are super closed off speaking to press, they very rarely go on the record, and what we report with WSOP we piece together from the contacts and OTR info we can gather.

The irony here is he was calling out HedgeX for doing something similiar.

Hi Sam,
Just a personal opinion on the reporting. I understand WSOP is super closed off from the press, how did you guys get the screenshots of the testing? Have you reached out Michigan about the legislative issues? I think those are fair questions? Have you collaborated with playmichigan to do a little more digging on that? Feel like these are just fair questions. Thanks!

We'd rather not disclose this so we keep our sources available in the future.

We reach out to them constantly; they don't comment.

100%!

We haven't collaborated with PlayMichigan, do you think we should? We always happy to work with others. We recently ran a campaign to get progress on PA shared liquidity and worked with PokerNews and others to help promote it, which was really successful.

I’ve started more games online than just about anyone in the world the last twenty years, so maybe instead of just listening to someone blindly online you do even a small amount of research. Nice screen name.

+1

I don't get why WSOP can't make an announcement like "software update coming soon blah blah".
Sigh.

Maybe WSOP needs to be put in a tough spot for once. They've been putting their own customers in a tough spot for years. Nothing about their site in NJ or NV could be called "modern" in any form or fashion (game offerings, outdated technology/platform and the constant glitches that are never fixed, poor customer service, and a management team that won't even respond/update its customers on anything happening). The entire platform and company need a massive overhaul in the way they conduct their online poker business. Maybe this will finally force them to step up and help the customers who have been supporting their business for the last decade+.

It's all about competition though. If Stations still had their site, and MGM had a site, and maybe Boyd or Wynn.........then WSOP would have an incentive to give better promotions and have better software. Until that happens, they are the only game in town and little will change.

you love living in the past lol who cares what you did 20 years. you immediately sit out when i join the table you are open sitting. wsop then deploys a new table and you go open sit that just for me to sit you and you sit out or leave. lol how can you just deny that. been doing this for almost a year now. any reg can confirm this because it happens every single time lol.

I don't care for the software update, but it will be nice to have a bigger player pool.
