Will PokerStars return money from my account to my grandson, if i die? Will PokerStars return money from my account to my grandson, if i die?

Actually, I do not have a grandson, I do not even have a son. But that question comes to my mind quite often for last 2 months.

The reason for that is the fact, that they "temporarily restricted" my account for "no more than 72 hours" for "routime security investigation". The funny thing is that I really liked their site. I was trusting them, sharing great experience with them to everybody I know, I even spent few years for becoming good at poker format, that only PokerStars have (Progressive Total KO zoom HUMTT). Actually, dozens of good players in that tournaments are playing them only because I was describing that cool format in my blog at gipsyteam.ru.

And now I am just blocked. No reason, no "send us a dozen of documents for proving that you are not an alien". Just relax and wait for our investigation to be complete (2 months already).

So I started to look forums, getting some info. In the end I made a request to IBAS for resolving that issue, but IBAS responded that they can not do anything until PokerStars finish their own investigation.

And after that I asked IBAS manager (who was very polite and quick in his responses) a very complicated question (complicated in terms of hardcore English use for non native speaker) "Can you tell me if there exists a maximum time frame for which they can freeze my money without any explanation to me?". Actually I am still not sure if I have not made any mistake in that long question. But anyway his response probably means that he understood me:
"Dear Mr Nimylovych,
There is no maximum time frame."

So now I do not have access to game (I won $95K in last 42 months in HUMTT, that exist only at PokerStars), I can not get $3.5K from my account, I am also blocked on PokerStars.es. And they can hold my money forever because of always being "still investigating". And of course I will not be able to play HUMTT for that time, but ... who cares?

So for that $3.5K I can somehow be pretending after they finish their "investigation" and that is why that question from the starting topic comes to my mind. I know one guy that has same problem with restriction, but for a 1 year already without any reason (although they asked him for a lot of documents and he send all of it). And if 1 year is possible, than 5 are also possible, and same with 25, 50, 100... So let`s say in 100 year I will be dead for sure (I am 26 right now) and my grandson will be around 60-70 +-. And they finally finish their investigation and decide that those money belong to me. Will my grandson get that $3.5k? What will be the inflation rate for that time? I mean, will $3.5K be enough to have a dinner in 2122? I hope so))

From what I've read over the years (I say read because I am American and unable to play there), Pokerstars handles these with professionalism. If you truly did nothing wrong, you will get your money back. However, nobody knows if you did something wrong except you and possibly Pokerstars employees.

I've seen these sorrow stories by many, many cheaters. Not sure what you're trying to accomplish here.

I had the same opinion on PokerStars for all the time I played there. But I was not cheating (of course you can not believe me) and they have said nothing about reason of that restriction. I mean totally nothing. They have not asked me to record a video, they have not asked me anything about my game. Just nothing. I am creator of the bounty strategy in HUMTT (although a few guys also developed similar strategies), but that does not make me a cheater. If you have not proved me doing anything wrong you cannot take my money for 2 months. You probably call it "presumption of innocence" in English.
And if you can somehow understand Russian, just read this story:

I know this guy, he was one of the best $60 spin regulars in 2016-2017 and now he is frozen for a year without any reason.

My last interactions with PokerStars support (exactly on 50s day of being frozen):

After that they are not allowing me to use live chat, as I contacted IBAS for help.

P.S. I know that those posts will not save the situation. I just want to share my story to as many people as possible. For now PokerStars have taken my money and abandoned from winning more at their site and it costed them nothing. In my opinion, I have to share my experience with poker community to actually make them pay with their reputation.

You think that this will make your situation solve faster? Bad news it wont. There have been probably more than hundred cases like this. Op tells a story he didn't do anything wrong stars is keeping my money etc etc. If you didn't do anything wrong you will eventually get your money. If they find out you did something against the tos you will not get tour money back. No one should stop or not start playing stars because of this. They are imo the most reliable site atm.

No, I dont think it will solve faster.
And they were the most reliable site, now they arent.
I did nothing wrong and I am left without BR after trying to cashout my money. What should I do? Just wait? How much should I wait?
I mean, you just tell me to relax and wait. But I am waiting for 2 months. I have trained a lot of players, I have a lot of video recordings of my play. I can prove that I was winning money without cheating. But I can not contact them, last week they stopped to respond to my emails.
As I already mentioned, I simply want to make my case public. I lost my opportunity to earn money, I had to seek for backing for the games that I was not playing for years (because I played the format, that only PS host), so now they have to lose their reputation. And no one should stop playing because of one case, but I am not alone. There are a lot of guys in russian speaking community, that where blocked for months without any reason. I just try to spread that information to english speaking community.

I decided to cancell IBAS request, as their manager told me that they are waiting for PokerStars investigation anyway. And PokerStars response remains the same, they cannot discuss "the specifics of the case".
Last interaction with PS support (asked about any news and decided to cancell IBAS request):

UPD:
This story has a happy end. After sending a lot of different documents (PS asked that guy to send a lot of documents, they do not ask me about that) and waiting for exactly 1 year that player created an IBAS request. In 60 hours he got back opportunity to play and all money from his account.

And I do not understand why IBAS helped him and it cannot help me. Do I also need to wait for 1 year and only after that create IBAS request?

Actually I was creating this post to share my bad experience with pokerstars. It`s title was just a joke, of course losing ability to play for months (I earned approximately $2.5K monthly in HUMTT on PokerStars) is way more important, than potential chance of dying and not being able to leave my bankroll for my family...
However everything changed on 24th of February 2022. I am 27 year old man living in Ukraine close to Kyiv. Actually I escaped from my home and got to a small town in the west of Ukraine. There I arrived to military enlistment office, but they have not take me to fight against russians yet, because I have no military experience and bad health (it can change if we begin losing this war, hope this never happens).
Suddenly freerolling my BR for my death became a significant +$EV for PokerStars. I could die as civilian or I could be taken into army. All in all I can lose access to the internet at any time.
Recently I started to play poker again and of course I typed a new e-mail to Pokerstars. Here is their response:

Just to let you know, here is another email from another pokerstars e-mail dated 9.12.2021:

More than 3 months have passed and Irfan just copypasted email from Prateek.
To sum it up:
PokerStars have not accused me in doing anything bad. They have not stated no other reason for restricting my account besides security check.
I have lost opportunity to earn money in HUMTT for already more than 4 months.
My BR was $3.5K. They are now really freerolling for my deaths, as I am living in Ukraine and any random rocket can kill me at any time.
And finally I am losing most of the money that I had besides BR (I successfully played a few months on Ukrainian pokere site, now I am switching to partypoker as action dropped there significantly, but it is hard to start playing MTT when you played HU last 3 years), so I really need that cashout of $3.5K as soon as possible. But they do not give a *uck and just copypaste standard response as they did in December.

This is pretty absurd - it should not take many months to conduct such investigations.

If you die before PokerStars resolves the issue, the people who inherit your assets should contact PokerStars and should expect to receive your remaining account balance.

It is, of course, really terrible that what was just random musing in January ("Will PokerStars give my account balance to my inheritors if I die?") is now a credible and reasonable fear given the situation you describe.

This a good reminder that you should not play at sites regulated by shitty low-end regulatory regimes like Malta whereby a player cannot appeal to independent arbitration without the permission of the site itself.

Hi, Taras? Got any updates on your situation? I hope PokerStars finished their investigation and resolved the issue for you. It's been more than a year since your last posts
