I'm thinking about moving some of my money from Bovada to either Carbon/Merge or WPN because I don't like anonymous tables. I'm only keeping some of my money on Bovada for the occasional tournaments and Zone poker. How's the traffic on Merge vs WPN for cash games at 10NL, 25NL, 5PLO, 10PLO, and 25PLO?

Another concern is the rake. Merge has really high rake and WPN has BBJ/Beast. I know that WPN has rakeback while Carbon has a VIP program that isn't so great.

Also withdrawing money at Carbon seems to have gotten a lot better (under 2 weeks according to the withdrawal thread). Which site would you guys recommend? Also, I think the biggest dealbreaker for me would be traffic. If traffic is horrible on both, I might just have to suck it up and deal with the anonymous tables at Bovada.

Can someone tell me the easiest way to deposit money on Bovada for a US based player? Do any of the store bought prepaid cards work? Thanks

At those stakes, the games are very soft, with a bit of study, you can likely beat them all

At Bovada you are limited to 4 cash game tables at a time. On Merge or WPN, that will not be the case.

Insofar as the NLHE micros go, if rake is a concern, you're better off with Merge b/c the beast/bbj drop makes for a higher effective rake at those stakes, Merge's "higher rake" is largely in the mid stakes cash games.

The PLO on WPN and Merge at those stakes has less traffic than Bovada, but you are mixing both types of games so either one will provide some games to complement your NLHE play.

Traffic isn't "horrible" on either site. You'll be able to play more than the 4 games that you'd be limited to on Bovada.

Now all of that said, all 3 networks have merit.

^^ I agree with everything except WPN. SNG's are a ghost town and non-BJ/Beast tables consist of about a dozen 2NL/5NL

I'll never see the draw unless your thing is grinding out the beast for whatever reason.

The draw for me is: no anonymous tables.....& fast and convenient withdrawals with my ACR debit card.

I've just spent a half hour searching and can't find anything close to a clear answer ... Which sites (if any) will accept new players from Washington state?

Only Revolution. Be careful and do your research there. Lock and Juicy Stakes are a bad idea considering the 6month+ payment delays...

For a US player who wants:

1. The least sketchy site (quick and reliable cash out)
2. Only to play NL Hold Em Cash Games, with some Hold Em tournies mixed in
3. Not worried about rake back at this point

It sounds like Bovada might be the best option??

Also, someone mentioned using a Visa Gift Card to create an account and add cash on Bovada. Can anyone confirm this would actually work? Sounds way better than using my own credit card.

Thanks

1. Bovada and Carbonpoker are the best options for me.

2. Tried different Visa Gift Cards several times w/o any success so I'm 99% sure they will not work for you.

You should be keeping up with every session you play with start time, end time, start balance, end balance.

Def. pay your taxes and hire a cpa.

There's a reason they have fast withdrawals.

To OP or others from NY, where is your favorite place to play and why?

Also, I notice some like BetOnline aren't mentioned here, any reason as to why not?
I feel the same way...

I'm also a Washington player. Poker and me have danced an interesating dance, I'm still playing micro stakes. These poker laws have really hindered my game as I live rurally and there is one casino within an hour that has poker and its a tough game because its the only game around. I was in Hawaii a couple years ago, played micro stakes and was starting to get into a 'grinding groove". Anyway, black friday ya de yada, one thing let to another, and here we are with few options to play online. I really wish pokerstars would be an option again, especially if they develop a mobile app!

I second that request: What's the best option for us in Washington?

If you don't like the answer in both the OP and in the post immediately after the one you quoted, then your best options is to move.

Your options are so terrible because you live in the only state that has legislation that makes online poker explicitly illegal, AFAIK.

I spoke with someone last week from WA who said they had just recently deposited onto Bovada using a credit/debit card from a local bank. He said he hadn't tried withdrawing any $ yet, so I can't speak on that, but he has been able to create an account and play regularly. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I spoke to my contacts at BP just last week to clarify the recent changes in allowed/disallowed jurisdictions at Bovada. This was the answer:

Unfortunately Bovada is not able to accept players from the following locations: New York, Washington and Maryland.

Correct, Intertops (Revolution) and ACR, True, BCP (Winning Poker Network).

There is very little traffic though for full ring. As I type this, none on either site. Time to learn 6m my friend
